RUN FROM THIS PLACE . TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! Kedin R worst waitress, all of them are terrible no customer service skills. Part of customer service is making customers feel welcomed & actually taking care of your tables. Takes 20 mins for them to even bring your drink over after they’ve served your food. My mother had to get up and ask if they can give us the drinks. They have 3 tables and are running up and down like the whole place is packed. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS & what they charge you and how they take your order. Charged me $33.59 for 3 individual orders of tacos when I Clearly ONLY ASKED FOR 1 order of tacos (that brings 3 TOTAL) I wanted 2 pork tacos and 1 steak. Unfortunately my mother just paid and we didn’t check anything as this taco order was separate placed as a to go order and my mother said everything was on her tab. I told her to take pictures of the receipts in case she lost them. WHEN I GET HOME I HAVE 3 BOX OF 9 Tacos Total. How stupid can you be to make such A HUGE MISTAKE? I have been in the service industry and you always repeat and order before putting anything in. This lady didn’t even check how the food came out or to check if we needed anything. I’m beyond appalled with this service. If you want Authentic Mexican food head over to Olden Aven to Taqueria El Mariachi & you receive great service over there. You’re supposed to check up on your tables, provide good service, smile, and take orders correctly. Regret giving this place a 2nd chance. Overall service is EXTREMELY slow they will not check up on you & most importantly they take your order wrong,...

Easy to find, El Guajillo (a dry form of a popular Mexican chile in Spanish) is located on the right side of Mercerville Post Office, off Route 33 and next to Applebee's.
The interior is very brightly painted (walls, ceiling, interior doors, tables, and chairs) in Mexican motifs. Some walls are attractively lighted, too. There is conventional and booth seating available. If you decide on the booth seating, try to get it inside the restaurant or by the walls facing Route 33. The booth seating facing Applebee's is on the same level as the parking, so the cars' headlights are right in your face.
The menu is long and extensive. There are multiple choices in the menu's many sections. The prices remain on a budget-friendly level. The most expensive dishes (from the menu's section 'platos fuertes' or main courses) can reach the mark of $21.99, but then you get a humongous-sized plate that wouldn't require any appetizer or even can be shared between two people. Even if you choose a platter of tacos sold for $14.99, you still get a whole plate filled with delicacies that should be shared between two diners.
The quality of food is great, everything we tried was really good. The service was good too.
There is a wheelchair-enabled entrance (ramp) and lots of parking. However, the Applebee's side parking fills up quickly, so your better chance is to park by the...
Read moreI came here for a late lunch date and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I got the "special shrimp burrito" and my husband got the 3 carnes (meats) entree! Everything was delicious and the servings were plentiful! The jamaica (agua frescas) here is delicious! Can't wait to return!
Returned Decided to stay local for Valentine's Day and had a nice time! So glad we decided to have a semi-early dinner (530ish) because had we gone any later we wouldn't have gotten a seat. The restaurant was nicely decorated for VDay and got packed around 6pm...there were so many ppl for eat-in and take out (especially delivery drivers for GrubHub/UberEATS,etc). Our food was delicious (we enjoyed the specials: shrimp ceviche and shrimp/mussels entree, as well as one of their traditional entrees) and the service was okay (had they had 1 additional server, I'm sure it would've been a lot better; there were only 2 ladies multitasking by taking orders, serving and working the register). My favorite were the agua frescas: Jamaica and Tamarindo! SideNote: I really feel like they should have a sign at the door advising ppl to wait to be seated (especially during special occasions) because I saw too many ppl bypass others, who were waiting for a table (but not sure if they could seat themselves), which I found to be unfair. They could def fit one or two more small tables in the section at the...
