We have done every escape room at this place. We have also done some of their escape rooms twice, and we were the first customers to do their new Mockbuster room when it opened (the day it opened), and beat it! We absolutely loved Cloak & Dagger, and we ranted and raved about it to everyone including the other escape room places we've gone to about how much we loved it here.
Unfortunately, that changed this week. We did their StarShip room in their old location months and months ago. We beat it, but with only minutes to spare because there was an issue or two with the room, that led to us taking a few more minutes. The game master confirmed it that day that we did everything right, but something just did not open up. Fast forward to last month, we did their Mockbuster room the night it opened up. We beat it, and they asked for our feedback on that room, and for any feedback on other rooms that we have, and to come back and do their "revamped" StarShip when it gets moved over and fixed in their new building.
This weekend we did it. It was terrible. Right off the bat, a door opened by itself and we were so confused. Come to find out, this door was opened by a malfunction in the second room, but we had no idea so we spent 10-15 minutes in the second room trying to solve a puzzle, not knowing that we were doing it right but the door already opened, so after 10-15 minutes the game master tells us we can stop on that puzzle since it malfunctioned. Secondly, to get through to the second room, the puzzle needing to get through - we had the correct answer on 2 separate occasions but it did not open the door. I even confirmed this after the room. They had to override the door. In the second room, there were at least 2 puzzles that were broken/not working properly, and 1 which is way too finicky and requires you to put something into a slot, but it has to be put in at a certain way. I was told they are reengineering this so it's not so finicky. The employee told us the room was rushed so they could move it, and they're working on fixing a lot of things. It clearly showed with all of the issues.
We called to speak to a manager days ago, and were told we would get a call back yesterday, we never did. We called today, and were denied any refund, and were told the employee is probably getting fired today because she was already on her way out. For a company who told us they "pride themselves on customer service", this was the most insane reaction we've ever experienced. The room has issues, and all they needed to do was take the feedback we gave that night, and maybe even gave us a call back, but instead they deflected and...

TL;DR Fun Experience, Private Room and enough room/puzzles for a group of 4-6 people to not be left out, Theming was on point and very immersive, Plan on coming back :)
First of all the fact that all rooms are Private is a Huge Plus for me. I very much appreciate just being in a room with just my friends without having to worry about strangers not matching the vibe.
Walking in the Staff is extremely nice and helpful, the entrance is open and clean so if you have a larger party you don’t feel cramped.
The Room Itself: The Wizard’s Wand is dripping head to toe with flavorful theme, you can almost taste the Polyjuice Potion. That being said a non Harry Potter fan will not feel left out as none of the Puzzle require outside knowledge, however if you are a fan there are certainly a few shortcuts you will be able to make.
Puzzles: The Puzzles are quite numerous and can be done in parallel with each other so no need to worry about members of a large group feeling left out with “nothing to do” The Puzzles themselves were a very solid mix of lock&key and technical locks that gave the room a very nice flow. There were no instances of a lock not opening or trigger not happening which is always a great thing.
Puzzle Difficulty: The websites score of 6/10 is fairly accurate. Most of the Puzzles are straight forward and do not require any leaps in logic. Teamwork will be the most difficult part in most cases.
Props/Décor: The Room looks and sounded amazing, there were however some props that were clearly meant to be Glued Down but have been ripped off and some point. These were all just in room props and nothing that was connected to an actual puzzle was broken.
Overall a very solid room, with a friendly and helpful staff that made the experience fun/memorable. If this is your first time doing an escape room you will very much enjoy yourself, If you are an escape artist who has done multiple rooms you will also have fun, If you are someone who enjoys a big challenge you might want to try one of their harder rooms (Will update review when I come...
Read moreThe golden dragon egg has been returned thanks to our ragged band. Game of Stones room was so cool! We had quite the range of interests attending, our 5 year old was a bit interested prior but had the best time. The 7 year old was stoked and also had a blast. I'm 33 and a die-hard fantasy nerd, I had a great time. My husband is mildly interested in fantasy but he had a blast. His mom is turning 65 she is not at all into fantasy and even she enjoyed the experience.
Give it a shot! It was a great memory we will hold forever.
Our host, Angela, was very kind and communicative. We arrived, got checked in, walked to the door, listened to the rules, entered the room, watched a scenario video, and got to puzzling! We solved the room with a few seconds remaining, and we did utilize Angela for some clues (we had only done a kid room prior so we were a bit nervous). We don't have a ton of escape room experience but it was leagues above the first one we attended. Decorations and puzzles were awesome! Highly recommend this fun excursion and we will be back next time we are in town visiting Grandma. The kids are actually begging to go again...
