I ordered delivery online. It took 1 hour and 40 minutes for the food to arrive. I called after waiting an hour and 20 minutes and they told me, "The driver is on the way, it must have been delayed due to ordering online." So, the food finally arrives and when I open the door, I get an enormous blast of cigarette smell from the driver. I set the food down and returned to it about 5 minutes later only to find out the food itself reeks of cigarettes, like the driver went on an hour and 40 minute chain-smoking joy ride with the windows closed and food engulfed.
I called Food Hing and stated I wanted my money back due to the extreme wait and cigarette soaked food. The woman told me I could receive my money back if I DROVE AND DROPPED THE FOOD OFF TO THEM. I told them that was ridiculous and the driver could come back and pick it up if they really wanted the food back. She then agreed that she would refund the money. Not surprisingly, I never received this refund (a whole $16 was apparently not worth their reputation).
I am shocked with this experience and will obviously not ever order food from this...
Read moreAre you tired of your veggie content being all carrots and celery? This is a take-out joint through and through despite the square footage. This is also the place for you. My beef usually comes with veggies. Lately those veggies have been bottom tier. My meal came with broccoli, bok chop, green beans, mushroom, snow/snap peas, waterchestnut, bell pepper, onion and a couple bamboo strips. This place serves what you remember and crave. This restaurant is family owned and operated. By that I mean a young couple and their kids. The dude can cook. The food is slammin', the portions are good, and if you are lucky you will see the renters upstairs bring the dogs down to "Basset Beach" which is a mini dog park built for two basset hounds (2½!) And I think a lab mix. Just remember you aren't just in a store front. You're in someone's home. Mind the kids, and be ready for the little one to ride his bike around the shop. Good food. Good price....
Read moreWhen I lived in the area, this was my go-to takeout place. I ate here weekly and always loved it, especially compared to the other takeout Chinese places in the immediate area. I moved away almost 3 years ago but placed an order when I was visiting this week, and it's NOT the same as it was. Everything was absolutely flavorless. The hot and sour soup wasn't spicy OR sour, the chicken and broccoli barely had any sauce, which just tasted like gloopy stock, the egg roll was mushy and oil-logged and tasted old. The only thing with any flavor whatsoever was the fried rice, which did have some generous portions of pork and a kind of grilled flavor. I was reaching for water the entire rest of the night, so clearly there was sodium in the food, yet it was somehow utterly bland and tasteless. I don't know what happened in the last couple of years, but what an enormous...
