This Chinese restaurant is beautifully decorated, with rich velvet seating and an ornate floor-to-ceiling doorway frame in the back. There was soft piano music playing the whole time I was there, creating a relaxed, refined atmosphere. If it weren't for the paper placemats and disposable chopsticks, I'd think this a much higher-end restaurant than it is. The prices and food are in line with what you'd expect for Chinese takeout, so I was quite impressed with how nice the restaurant looks.

At the start, I was given a bowl of complementary crackers and duck sauce, which was surprisingly filling. I always appreciate getting a breadbasket or crackers like this at the start, especially when I'm arriving very hungry. I then ordered a large plate of boneless BBQ ribs and a bowl of white rice, both of which arrived extremely quickly. The ribs had a nice texture - soft, easy to chew, not dry. Sadly, they were too sweet for me, although I did appreciate that there was a good amount of sauce on the ribs. Some places skimp on the sauce - not here. Here, there was more than enough extra BBQ sauce to flavor all of the rice, which was really great. I just wish the sauce were a tad less sweet.

I really appreciated the friendly service. The waitress serving me was so sweet and friendly and was very happy to explain the menu to me. She checked on me a couple times to see if I had everything I needed and if the food was to my liking, but I never felt rushed. My water glass was refilled and I got a nice big booth to myself. The atmosphere was perfect for reading a book for a while (the restaurant was mostly empty), particularly with the soft, gentle piano music.

Overall, I'd say the atmosphere and service here are lovely and create a more refined atmosphere than most local Chinese places. The prices are still in line with other places with similar menus, but Sun Lok Garden feels nicer, more relaxing, and better managed. Unfortunately, the ribs were just too sweet for me.

I'm hoping that if I try some other menu items next time, I'll have a better experience and this can become part of my regular rotation. The menu is extensive, so hopefully I'll find something next time that suits my...

To start off I used to rave about this place and tell people how I drive past 2 Chinese restaurants just get to get Sun Lok Garden. The last two times that I have gotten take out (just because when this happened the first time I could not believe) that my order (sesame chicken) was not fresh at all. Upon arrival at home and anxiously awaiting to enjoy my meal to suddenly be disturbed by the sight of dried and shriveled appearing chicken with no sauce even at the bottom of container. To better describe my scenario was that this food was either a leftover order that someone failed to pick up or was refrigerated from a prior day and microwaved. This order looked exactly as if you didn’t finish the meal, then refrigerated it over night and warmed it up in the microwave the next day. What I experienced will take me a long time to get over and order from here again. If this establishment is trying to get away with reheating food and serving to their customers; that it will not take customers long to figure this out and stop going back. Like I said this happen two times in a row. I was so disgusted and threw at 3/4 of my platter and should have brought it back. I picked up my order within 10 minutes of placing the phone call. Total dissatisfied customer and cannot believe how the quality of Sun Lok Garden could so rapidly decline. As for being the highest priced Chinese cuisine in the area you would think you are getting the best quality, this has truly been the opposite. I hope this review is truly valued because next time I will open my order before I leave...

I guess I'll do another one of you at some point, but my most recent visit was disappointing. My family wanted to try something new for Christmas dinner so it was suggested that we order from Sun Lok Garden. When I called I was met with a very frantic operator and when I place my order I kept being told that certain things would take 30 minutes more such as having my fried rice made spicy. I asked if I could have the spread rice spicy and was told that it would take an hour for the mail to be made but if I just took normal range would only take 30 min, so I accepted that. I decided to pick the food and got to the restaurant 35 minutes after placing the order when I got there I was told that they were very busy and and to just wait. After waiting 10 minutes I asked the lady behind the counter told me 30 minutes. As I waited they started running out of egg rolls and some other items 🥺 I debated on going somewhere else but figured I waited this long I might as well keep waiting. 40 minutes later I hear my name and was told there was no egg rolls and that my egg rolls were substituted for spring roll! Sadly we don't eat shrimp... there is no price adjustment for the substitution and the food was absolutely disappointing the chicken was mushy, I asked for things like broccoli and other items to not be put in my food and that was ignored. I was also overcharged. I ended up going to best choice to get the other items that were missing for my meal. Being should not sideline customer service and quality of food. I'm sure I'll be brave enough to go back...

A lot of people in my local eatery group on Facebook suggested this restaurant for old school Chinese food. I personally think everything was just okay. We got Sun Lok steak as main dish and wished it had more spice to it as it had the pepper symbol on the menu, we expected it was spicy. Scallion pancakes are very greasy, beef on the stick was pretty good. Cold noodles with sesame sauce didn’t taste any sesame in there, just feel like they put a lot of Hoisin sauce in it. Free oranges and fortune cookies after the end.

Order for pick up. Service was rushed and dismissive. Everything was in the bag. However, i requested that the gravy for egg foo young be on the side. It was poured all over. Tso chicken was okay not crispy, but meat was decent. Spring rolls were mostly wrapper and oily. The dumplings were the biggest disappointment of all. The wrappers were more like tortillas, and had little filling. Asked for fried, but they were mostly soggy and falling apart. Fail.

This was my first visit to Sun Lok Garden. It was a very cozy, inviting and clean restaurant. We were served hot tea and chips and sweet & sour sauce immediately upon being seated. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive to our needs. We ordered the shrimp chow mein platter and hawiian seafood dish. Both meals were generous portions and so tasty! Prices were reasonable. I recommend Sun Lok Garden for really good Chinese food.
