This was my first time going to Seaboard Station with my co workers. On the outside and inside, I'm sure at one point in time this was a household with many people living in it. There is a swirling staircase inside, there are multiple rooms, the inside of the place is what fascinated me because it's so big and beautiful. The food I had that day was rice, stewed beef, 1 piece of fried chicken, collard greens, corn, sweet tea, and 1 slice of carrot cake and a small bowl of the banana pudding/nilla wafers. Everything I had was good. I know a lot of elderly and working people eat there, the food is a lil bland, you will need lots of pepper and salt. Great atmosphere and happy people. Would definitely go again and try something different next time. Also if you plan on going, try around 1 or 2, lunch time is pretty busy but there are plenty of seats and if you have to wait, it will only be for...
Read moreSeaboard is my favorite place to eat, anywhere, anytime. Each day this All-You-Can-Eat buffet restaurant has a different theme, and Friday’s are my favorite with home style chicken and dumplings, fried chicken, green beans, new potatoes, baked macaroni, meatloaf, banana pudding, and salad bar. Yum! I’m getting hungry just writing this review. The fried chicken is the best I’ve ever eaten (sorry mom). The restaurant is located in the old Seaboard Hotel which used to house travelers on the Seaboard Railroad which is still in use today. Situated in the middle of historic Hamlet, known for its railroad history, Seaboard is a local favorite and hidden gem of NC. For the same price as a combo at Wendy’s, you can dine here on some of the best home cooked style food anywhere, and make sure to top it all off with some of the best southern sweet tea...

No exaggeration! They consistently have "the best fried chicken" of anywhere else I have ever been. It is both tender and flavorful, not heavily breaded, and the pork chops are a close second.
They have good steamed cabbage. I don't think it is seasoned with meat, but has a sweetness. They have a good salad bar, which includes pickled okra. I can make a delicious potato salad using their potato salad on the bar, add sweet chopped onion, sweet pickles, and chopped hard boiled egg. And, I like their carrot cake, but they have other desserts.
They often have a great number of customers, but there are tables and chairs for two, four, or more. Currently, the cost of the buffet, including drink is only $10, tax included. Amazing...
