When we arrived, I was ignored for about 5 minutes to get on the wait list. I assumed it was really busy and there seemed to be a few birthday parties happening, so I didn’t worry much about the waiting to get on the list. We waited about 45 minutes after being told about 25; once again, no big deal. We were seated and it took about 5 minutes for a waitress to acknowledge our presence, again nothing crazy. We then put a drink order in along with our apps and dinner order. Our drinks took about 20 mins, from the bar. I’m still waiting for my can of coke the next morning while I’m typing this. After about 30 minutes I asked for the guacamole that I ordered when I stopped the waitress and she said she was still waiting for it. Never once were we offered another drink being we had been there almost an hour. After an hour and 20 minutes since we put in our food order, I still haven’t gotten my coke nor our food. At some point during this time, I don’t remember how long it took but my Lovely Date got her appetizer. It had dairy on it after she told them no dairy due to an allergy. A new one came out with in 3 mins. Amazing, that we complained and food came right out. I’m pretty observant and there were other families arriving and getting food and leaving; I guess because I didn’t speak Spanish and was the minority in the crowd we were supposed to wait. At one hour 30 mins I asked for the check because it was 1030 and the place closed 30 mins prior I was ready to leave. Instantly our food was brought out. I rejected the food, I was done and tired and no longer hungry. My girlfriend took her food home to go. That took 5 mins to be wrapped up. We got to this place at 745 and now 1035 I gave my card to pay. I was hesitant to even give my card so it wasn’t held hostage for an hour. I felt bad because the waitress was obviously new and she was trying. I certainly tipped her well, it’s not her fault the place runs at a snail pace. I have been to other places that don’t prepare food and let it sit and that’s fine, but warn people that it’s made to order and the cow has to be raised in the back field before they cook it. We would have ate before we came there so that way we were ready for the next meal when it showed up. Also, pump the drinks out a little faster, that’s mere profit and they were good and strong. I will say this, for those that were arriving, eating and leaving before I even got acknowledged, the food looked amazing with decent size servings. Maybe the ownership had a great business that outgrew the kitchen size and staff and maybe it’s time to learn some business management or get a bigger location or better kitchen management. Save yourself the time and go to Tacos el Tio; just make...
Read moreAfter driving past Fiesta Mexicana for a few years now, I finally decided to try this place out (and avoid fast food!). Boy, am I glad I did. It was a sunny, hot summer day, and me and my partner had our little dog with us, so we sat at the outside tables and had lunch al fresco. It was really pleasant and our dog got to rest in the shade and seemed to really enjoy it. Now to the food! Having grown up in So Cal, I spent many a weekend in high school going to Mexico- and enjoyed incredible culinary experiences in places like Rosarito Beach, Tijuana, and many more. So I know authentic Mexican food. Fiesta Mexicana is absolutely authentic and delicious! I was blown away- in Hammonton, NJ???-YES! We started with chips and salsa- they serve a mild green tomatillo salsa and a spicy very hot red salsa. Both were excellent, fresh and delicious. The chips are hand made, and exactly as one would find in Mexico. My partner ordered a chicken burrito- which he said was juicy, very well seasoned, and delicious. I tried the carne asada- and man, that was good. Thin steak, perfectly marinated in lime juice and spices- it was succulent, tender and wonderfully flavorful. Both dishes came with authentic Mexican yellow rice and beans. Great, great food. And to top it off- the service was excellent! The staff are all very attentive, incredibly friendly, and fast. The restaurant inside is clean, and everyone is busy and working hard. I cannot recommend this place enough- so if you find yourself in Hammonton, NJ and want great Mexican food at a very good, reasonable price- stop at Fiesta Mexicana. It’s an...
Read moreI went over for dinner with my family after a beautiful day at the shore. This was my first (and my last) time coming to this place, we started with drinks for everyone with our 1st sweet server, then another server came back saying she didn't have some of the drinks so I asked about what they did have available and with an attitude she said to look over at the menu (really? after you coming back saying you don't have what I wanted?) We received our food, no silverware, asked twice for it...server didn't seem to really care about our table. My sister ordered a side of beans for her baby (10-month-old baby). Beans were bad!! It's not that they didn't taste good, THEY WENT BAD!! We called our rude server over, told her about the beans, she brought another side of beans and same thing, they were bad. Looks like their big pot of beans went bad and that's how they were serving their beans to everyone. At this point we were pretty upset and decided to leave and upon leaving we asked to speak with the supervisor. Apparently supervisor had just left so an employee came out to us with a nasty "WHAT?" we explained our terrible experience and all she said was "sorry we already took the beans off your tab". I hope this gets to the owner's attention because this cannot be happening. I keep myself from posting bad reviews because I believe in second chances and I can understand we all can have bad days but this is...
