Marcello's Trattoria — Restaurant in Hammonton

Last evening (Thursday August 10), I hosted about 20 friends at a dinner party at Marcello’s. This was the fourth time a significantly large group of us had met up there for dinner. As has been the experience each and every time previously, we were delighted. We were greeted by Tiffany and Carlos who truly treated us as if we were family. Though we can sometimes be a fussy group, no request was too much to ask and no accommodation was out of the realm of possible. Tiffany and Carlos went way above and beyond accommodating to make my guests and I feel comfortable and well treated. Needless to say (but I will anyway) our meals were wonderful. The soup was flavorful and homemade and the salad crisp and fresh. The bread, rolls and garlic knots were warm and super chewy. While we all ordered a variety of menu items, the pappardelle with meat sauce, eggplant rotini and clams in red sauce were certainly the most popular. As hard as we tried to finish our meals, the portions were very generous so finishing was impossible. There were many “to go” boxes leaving with us. It is always a wonderful experience dining at Marcello’s – the food is excellent, the prices are fair and the service and staff incredibly warm and friendly. Wow! I always take the New Jersey transit Atlantic City train which is right around the corner. This particular day I decided to pop in and have a bite with my friend. The service was impeccable and super friendly I loved the happy welcome and attentiveness. I don't know the name of our server but we adored her.

There are 2 sides the more to -go diner oriented side with window pizza and more formal sit down area that was warmer and had a more dinner date vibe.

We got the Mussels in white sauce to share they were fantastic and the enough sauce to use your table bread to really go in (and we did)

The philly cheese team with fries again fantastic nice and cheesy and the meat was cut properly.

I got the Penne vodka with grilled chicken... My God some of the best vodka sauce I've ever had and I could tell the pasta was fresh. The table comes served with bread and the the coffee was nice and rich and bold but not burned.

We had to run to our train so I asked I stead of sit down half way through the meal if they could wrap it instead and it wasn't a problem again addressed promptly and very kindly.

Now Everytime I have to catch the train I'm gonna stop by and grab a bite. Highly recommend for date night or...

As a life-long resident of Hammonton my family and I always ate at Marcello's. We always liked and enjoyed the food at Marcello's. Recently we just had a party here, and again the food was good. It was served family style and we had the party in there newly renovated party room. Our waitress Jody gave outstanding service and was great, thank you Jody! At the end of the party when the bill came we were surprised to find out that Marcello's charges extra if you bring your own alcohol and your own cake for the party. So the extra charge was like adding $7 more per person. Never again Marcello's there are other places in town.

In response to the owner's post, we were not aware of the additional charges stated in the package. We did not book the reservation online nor were we told about the fees. We had a total of 16 people and DID NOT have a bar setup. We brought 3 bottles of homemade wine and a cake. I can't believe that some one would charge $100.00 for using a couple of wine glasses and to cut a cake. This $100.00 is a hidden fee that we were not advised of. By the way' your website doesn't give any info on bar set up or cake cutting fees! Your website only states the different sample menus of the packages...
