Second time I've been here recently and there's been a problem with them honoring the check in codes that I get on the friendly's mobile app. The coupon last night was for 50% off and they were saying the coupon expired which it didn't because you could see right on my phone the coupon didn't expire. I have a feeling they just didn't want to honor it. I'm not happy about this. Furthermore the manager who was working last night needed info on my membership but she just takes my phone and walks away with it all the way to the front register and she did this several times. Yoy really have to wonder about people sometimes. Then after walking away with my phone 3 times then she asked me the forth time. Really lady? It seems their prices have gone up, I have friends who won't eat here because of that. Portions are alot smaller then they used to be which in many regards is good but if you're hungry and want a larger portion its not good. If there's a problem again with the check in coupon codes I will stop eating here altogether because its not the customerw fault that the system the cashiers are working with in the restaurant are not up to par with the friendleys mobel app. And the manager should have over rided the system regardless because she saw right on my phone the coupon DID NOT EXPIRE. She should have apologized also for walking away with my phone multiple times without even asking. Not happy with service! Please fix this problem Friendleys...
Read moreFirst time ever going to friendly's. Ever. Last time as well. The waitress was super nice. She made a mistake and told me "every drink has a free refill, except milkshakes" at the time I wasn't sure as I was in a rush. So I asked her if the orange juice had a free refill, she said yes. So I went with orange juice. She brings out my appetizer and it was good, so I eagerly wait for the entre meal I ordered. This much older lady comes out with the meal which had a very small portion of mashed potatoes... like very very small. I thought it was because I added bacon. but no I got charged for the bacon too so there goes that.
I asked her for a refill and she brings up the fact that there are no free refill. Then I explained that the waitress said that. I was polite but she got rather mean and nasty, so I asked for a to go for my meal and she says okay.
Goes into the kitchen and screams at the poor waitress. What a terrible boss. Over a simple mistake. I didn't even make a stink about it. I was annoyed, and very rightly so but she didn't deserve that.
Will never go to this friendly's or any friendlys at all. The irony of the name, when in reality it's very unfriendly.
Treat your workers with some common decency. It's a few days before christmas, and this is how you spread the cheer. All over overpriced orange juice the price of the glass amounts to the price of a 1 gallon...
Read moreTo me Friendly's is classic and iconic. I remember it used to be my grandmother's favorite place to stop for lunch and ice cream. I remember when my daughter was little a bowl of the clam chowder was her favorite. We stopped in the Newton location for lunch. We of course both ordered NE Clam Chowder which was delish. Hasn't changed a bit. My husband got the "Legendary Honey BBQ Chicken SuperMelt". It was yummy and he was impressed with the crispiness of the sandwich. I ordered the "Reuben Supermelt". Again very tasty. The corned beef was lean and not salty. Toasted crispy not greasy. We got onion rings not fries. The cook did a great job. Sometimes food like this can be greasy and heavy. Our meal was not. The cook did a good job. The waitress was friendly, fast and efficient. Many restaurants are understaffed and overworked these days. I appreciate the people out there...
