Overall: pleasant to the eye and that’s about it. I was excited to try this place out with my wife for lunch but left with disappointment filling our stomach. A wasted meal.
The initial impression of the location is an aesthetically-pleasing convenience store. The windows were clear of blinds, allowing natural light to flood the location. They have a very nice drink wall, if you care. That’s where the good things end.
It’s not abundantly clear whether the place is a sit-down or take-out kind of establishment upon entering. This wasn’t made clear either by the cashier, who said nothing other than, “Hi, guys.” Tipping was also prompted on their Clover checkout process before service is rendered; I regret tipping 18% from the pre-populated selections. I was hopeful for a good experience based on the Google reviews.
After sitting down at a table (that I wiped clean with my sleeve), we observed three separate customers complain about something being wrong with their order and receiving refunds. That’s when I noticed no one in the restaurant was eating: five tables (apart from us) were waiting for food.
It took almost 40 minutes to receive the “I’m Hungry” sandwich and the Greek omelette platter; I was able to stream almost two 20-minute episodes of a show on my phone while waiting. The short order cooks didn’t seem well-trained; each order was being cooked one at a time to completion before starting the next one. Their competition: a Mexican restaurant, a coffee shop, a Chinese take-out shop, and fast food are all better options for a quick bite on lunch break.
The food wasn’t even worth the wait. Both entrees were surprisingly bland. The mouth-feel of the sandwich was disappointing: it was sponge-like which has potential to soak up flavor, but the sandwich was dressed only with a light dressing. I couldn’t tell if it was Thousand Island or French, but it didn’t have much taste. The roast beef and turkey on the sandwich had grill marks but no accompanying flavor either apart from the light dressing. The omelette’s only flavor was the feta cheese. The potatoes that came with the omelette were not seasoned with anything in particular. The only condiment offered by the staff was salt.
Honestly, the best part of the experience was the bottled Diet Pepsi and the complaint dialogue my wife and I had on the way home.
2/5. Took way too long and the food was only technically edible. I’ll go back eventually to give them a chance to get it together. But goodness this experience was...
Read moreHere to clear up a lot of things off of the reviews I have seen. Yes it isn’t clear that if we are a to-go or to-stay deli. We just have seating for people who want to eat there. We put food in a to-go container because it’s less of a headache. You get you’re food in your own to-go container. Also, if we have a lot of customers in the store, bear with us, we have 1-3 cooks on the grill and 1 cashier. Not many of us that will easily make it food and you will be on your way to go in 10 minutes. Order delivery, pickup. But if you come in to place an order and it’s busy, just be aware that there’s gonna be long wait. We would like if you grab your drink then proceed to the cashier please, makes our process easier then having to make 2 separate charges. Our menus, ones you see on the table might be different to the ones on the tv’s. Those menus are from months back. Any question about the price? Walk up to the cashier and they’ll give you the correct price. We are open 24/7. Also, if we run out of rice. We’re sorry and the process for our rice takes around 1 hour. We run out of rice pretty often but we have rice on the stove at most times. If not you’re gonna either way, change you’re item, or get a refund. I’m the owners son just clearing up some reviews. Hope you enjoy...
Read moreI went here only because of an online tiktok review but I was disappointed..... i think the sign fir the business was being created. I arrived for breakfast thinking that I was going to be served. They have tables but no service or waiter. Menus on tables. I waited for service but no one came. Two gentlemen behind the counter. I ordered breakfast at the counter. I questioned the price after my order because it was more than what was on the menu. He told me the prices on the display are correct the menus were incorrect. Then why have them on the tables if they are wrong and you do not offer service. My food arrived in a takeout container. Plastic forks, condiments. I thought I was at a picnic. The food was OK, 2-3 out of 5. People were standing around waiting on their food. This place is truly a deli because I think they focused more on smoothies and deli sandwiches, which looked very good. The display of their food items were impressive. Not sure if I will be returning. They have potential for...
