Sofia on Lafayette — Restaurant in Hampton

The food was good and the onion rings were outstanding and homemade not frozen and the waitress was great! My only complaint is that my husband and I were looking for an Italian restaurant and found sofias on the website. We looked at the menu and decided to go. We called to make reservations. When we arrived we were a little confused? Walked in told them we made reservations but didn’t really seem concerned and they sat us down and handed us the menu. Looked at the menu and it wasn’t the one on line it was for the loose screw restaurant?? I asked the waitress are we in the right place and she said yes this is now the loose screw restaurant?? I was disappointed because I had my mind set on certain food that we seen on line and they should not have answered the phone by saying sofias restaurant. They should let people know when they call and update the website...

If you have the patience of Job or enjoy being treated as though you were The Invisible Man, then this place is for you! There is no established protocol insofar as "who's next" is concerned so your left to your own enforcement. After guarding the restrooms for over a half an hour, without so much as an acknowledgement of our existence, another couple entered next to us and the hostess repeatedly assured them.that "she'd be right with them." After two more assurances of "we'll be right with you" without so much as a glance at us, we reminded the hostess that we'd been waiting for over 40 minutes at this point. Mind you, there were back tables available during this time but we were to remain standing. Finally we couldn't take being disrespected any longer and went down the street to The Old Salt....

Staying in the area and honestly there's a lot of places I could have gotten food. Sofias stood out to me with their homemade pasta and the reviews were positive. Well... Let me tell you. They absolutely will not let you down. Great pasta, incredibly fresh homemade bread, large portions and the sauce is rich with a perfect consistency. I ordered takeout and they took the time to cling wrap the entire container, which was above and beyond and very much appreciated. The hostess was extremely friendly and welcoming. In fact, my only regret was not dining in. The place was immaculately clean and very spacious. Truthfully, it smelled like my grandma's house. She was 100% Italian and it really brought back some memories. Looking forward to going back. I might even stock up on their food...
