El Portal Mexican Food — Restaurant in Hanover Township

I came here a week ago on April 22nd after driving by this place for a few months. I finally decided to go in and try it out. I got the steak burrito with onions added to it. I could not believe the size of this thing for only $10 bucks. Tasted absolutely phenomenal and the red and green salsas they give with the orders to go were amazing. It took less than 5 minutes for my food and I got it to go and took it home.

Hands down the best Mexican food I've had in a long while. I live in schaumburg but I'm driving out to El Portal any time I want some good Mexican food. I'll be back soon to try more...

Such lovely folks met us as we entered the door, even though my lady decided to track mud on their freshly mopped floor. Also went with the Chicken Flautas with a michelada to drink while I rocked an agua con lemon with my chicken enchiladas souiza. We both dug out chow and the highlight may have been the clearly house made salsa that came with chips when we sat down. There is some spice, but it's oh so nice. Gave this a chance. Odd, no big menu board so I ordered from menu. Did not get full order I paid for. Missing 2 tacos. Strike 1. Burrito suizo was drowned in Valentina sauce. By the time I got home, the white bag was red. Strike 2. There was some inedible string in the food. Was not food. Strike 3. Floor was dirty/sticky. Too much improvement needed here. There are better options in the area....
