The general atmosphere was nice, the servers were as accommodating as they could be; we ended up needing someone to assist ours, as his English wasn't the greatest, but he was incredibly sweet and communicated quite well as far as I was concerned, despite the language barrier. I was with 6 other people who spoke no Spanish whatsoever and were a tad impatient, but things ultimately worked out well. The food was absolutely delicious, and while inflation apparently played a bit of a role in the prices from what one of the people in our party told us, the portions were still huge and very filling. The only thing that I, personally, didn't like too much, and this was negligible, was how warm and muggy it felt inside, still, after coming in from being out in 90+ heat with high humidity and dew points. And I mean, it really wasn't THAT bad, but I have a couple health issues that make it hard for me to tolerate that kind of weather, so that's all it was. Otherwise, everything was pretty great! I'd actually like to go check it out again on a night where they have the live entertainment and karaoke; while I understand the place draws primarily Hispanic crowds, and I'd imagine therefore a congruent type of entertainment, I've always enjoyed it when having dined at my other go-to place, La Hacienda. They never have any open seating anymore, though, and this place is much closer to home. It may become my...
Read moreThe amount of time I have spent so far today waiting for my to go order is insane. If they didn’t rob me for two burritos and an order of fries (38 dollars), I would have left already. I wouldn’t order from here ever again even if my food, whenever I get it, if I ever get it, is decent. Here are a couple things that might help. Tell people it’s going to be an hour for their food, if it’s gonna be an hour for their food. And if your food is going to take an hour, go talk to the customer and tell them the food is going to take an hour. Prices need to be lower. I would have gone to Los if they were open. The company won’t care about this review. Hopefully the public reads it. Goodness gracious. No consideration for me as a guest. Go to Los. It is a couple blocks away. Affordable and a Chicagoland classic. Service, efficiency, and quality has always been superior to every Mexican restaurant I have ever been to other than Los. Do not waste your time or money at Fiesta Del Mar. Should be called Fiesta...
Read moreThis place sucks, for the following points:
Tax Evasion , so the servers are trained to tell you if you spend more than $50 you have to pay cash and if you don’t have any they have an ATM (double dip) The karaoke is random, so if you don’t want your ears to bleed while your eating or waiting on food and for such a small venue they blast the music like you are in a concert avoid coming here. Drinks watered down Service is better at a nightclub, which brings me to another point (5.) Waitresses look like they are working at a club with the club mentality and attitude (please this isn’t River North Chicago) In closing: this place works for a select clientel if you’re a pervert that likes to stare or hit on the staff, get paid cash so you constantly have cash on you, are tone deaf and have no options when it comes to Spanish seafood. Then this place is for you!
Thank you fiesta Del Mar, for alienating 80% of your possible clientele and congrats on the...
