Don’t judge a book by its cover, because once you enter the front door you’re transported into a clean, updated really cozy restaurant. The walls are filled with old photos of Cedar Lake, trophy fish, antiques and nice decor. The service was excellent with attentive staff eager to please and serve you. The restaurant was very clean and updated. I had the Low Carb plate filled with grilled chicken breast, pickles, hard boiled egg, cottage cheese and a fresh vegetables. I couldn’t eat it all. The prices are excellent and very fair for the large portions. We also tried the classic French Dip which was reported to be very good. Next time you see the sign, check it out, you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend Harry O’s in Cedar Lake.

Service was good. The food was good. I recommend trying the lemon rice soup, even my baby enjoyed it. We tried mozzarella sticks and jalapeño poppers. Both were good. The jalapeño poppers were very mild, and could have been more spicy. My children had chicken tenders and macaroni. I feel like both were overpriced. The macaroni was like Kraft, but had a different taste. My children didnt take more than 3 bites. My wrap was missing the bacon, but other than that everything was good. The staff was friendly. The atmosphere is very... old. The lights are dim. The walls, floor, and decor are all dark. It gives a very... outdated feel.

Unfortunately the food quality has gone down at Harry O's. Today I ordered a BLT club with the bacon deep fried. Bread was so small it is nearly impossible to eat as a sandwich. The bread was barely toasted and the bacon was not deep fried and crispy as I requested. I have been going to this restaurant for 20 yrs or so. I have given the new owners a chance to get accustomed but the last 3 times the BLT was unsatisfactory. 3 strikes and you are out. Soup is still good but that is about it.

I decided to give this family-type restaurant a try, since restaurants like these are usually a guaranteed enjoyable experience. I ordered the HarryO’s Burger with Fries and Lemon Rice Soup. My significant other order the Filet Mignon. We ordered the Flaming Saganaki Cheese for a starter as well.

They gave a bread and cracker basket after we were seated. It was sloppily presented, but tasted okay. The Saganaki Cheese was good for the most part, but we didn’t get to finish it, because of the issue we had soon after.

The Burger was served with nothing on it. It was just the meat and the bun. The veggies were on the side. The fries were thrown on the plate in a scattered manner. The burger was not good whatsoever. The biggest issue of all was her Filet Mignon being undercooked. It was less of a cook than rare and she had ordered it medium rare. It looks as if they grabbed the Filet and let it cook for ten seconds on each side. It was horrible, so we alerted the waitress. She asked if she wanted something else and her stomach was just too upset from the meat to even attempt another entree. The waitress took the steak away and brought the bill out not too long after. What do you know, she was still being charged for the steak. We confronted her of the charge and she said they couldn’t do anything about it. We spoke to another woman that was more than just rude. She argued with us, which we definitely shouldn’t have to do for undercooked meat. She just kept repeating herself and said that my significant other ate some of the steak. Well obviously she would have to eat a bite or two to see the true cook of the steak. She finally went back and acted as if she was going to take the steak off the bill. She still did not take it off. She took off a beverage and a cocktail. That’s about nine dollars out of 25 dollars. Why should we have to pay $16 for about two bites of raw meat and a stomach ache? The unprofessionalism doesn’t stop there. We once again went at it with basically the same exchange of words until she said she was going to call the cops there and we would have to pay. That was the last straw. I told her we will sit and wait. I told her to bring back the uncooked meat, so we can take photos and send to the health department. She left and returned with a new bill, without the Filet on it, finally. She tossed it on the table, crumbled up the other bill and threw it across the table. We put the money on the bill on the table. Our original waitress completed shrugged us away. We got up and paid up front. I handed the cashier the bill and two $20’s. She must have dropped one when I wasn’t looking her way. She tried handing the money back only showing one $20 bill. I told her I handed her two. She also argued and I told her I know I did. She left the cash register area and disappeared. I looked around the corner and there it was. The money was right below the cashier’s area. They gave their last attempt to get the money for that steak. It’s pathetic and they need to learn how to serve a customer the correct way. I haven’t had an experience this bad before. I highly advise everyone to stay far away. They would have potential if they took pride in their food and took a Customer...

Went in by myself, on Wednesday, June 14th. The lobby was completely packed full of people even down the hallway towards the bathroom. I was like then 8th party in line for a table. I didn’t see any waitresses buzzing around the restaurant like I thought I should since it was so busy. I was worried I would never get a seat or then wait forever to get my food. As I stood in the lobby I watched the cashier girl juggle people coming out to pay, people walking in to get on the list, and people walking in for takeout. She was super nice and friendly to everyone and if she didn’t look like she was 18-20 years old I would’ve assumed she’s been doing this for 10 years, a real professional and very organized. When it was my turn, she asked if I would sit in the bar, said they didn’t have a waitress but that she would take care of me. Since I have been watching her, I knew I would be in good hands. I was right, I gave her my order before she even walked away from the table, brought my drink, soup and salad what felt like 5 minutes, and my main course before I was even done with the salad. And she was taking care of two other tables in the bar. So all in all, one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time. Her name is Sam. She made it great! And the food was good as usual! I hope they are paying her well. I definitely tipped her to show my...

Where to begin. Ordered a Manhattan (which is on the menu). No martini glass and it came in a type of wine glass mostly ice. Nothing like a martini of any kind. I think they added water or soda water but it was not a Manhattan martini. That would be whiskey, vermouth and bitters not over ice, not in a shotty glass, its not rocket science. If you're going to list it on the menu at least make it properly. Sent it back. Then we went back to waiting to order. We were the only people in the restaurant at this time and could hear all the employees hanging out around the corner. Finally placed our order. Back to waiting. I was wondering why the man didnt ask me how i wanted my burger cooked, well that's because its a frozen patty. I think this was mystery meat and definitely NOT 100% beef. My husband ordered ribs with shimp. Horrid. Should have known better. We were better off at the DQ or Subway down the street. At least we know we can expect. The service was poor, the food was worse than truck stop food, and the drinks are a waste of time. We will not be back nor do we recommend wasting your time...
