I would say it is okay. Good for a large indecisive group, but not my first choice buffet in the area. It's a buffet so it's not going to have high quality food (larger profit margins for cheaper supplies - you know).
My favorite Chinese take out dish is chicken with garlic sauce and I was quite disappointed as all of their chicken dishes tend to be very chewy/grissel-y (on multiple occasions dining here). I only recommend the tiny chopped and heavily breaded chicken as this compensates for the grissel. The coconut chicken is essentially candy. It hurt my teeth to eat.
Their ragoons are very full of a sweet, cream cheese mixture. Very tasty, but not always in the mood for that style. Their non-chinese options are very good (love their Mac and cheese). The dumplings/pot stickers are pretty decent. Consistent with other buffets in the area. Fried appetizers are good, too.
I can NOT recommend their seafood. The fish sits in large pans across the hot bars in its own juices and oil and slowly dries out into jerky. The crabs and crawfish are more often than not very grey and dull; definitely not fresh. BUT then again, it's a buffet. The calamari is very rubbery and tends to get hard and dry.
The sushi is okay. I don't really feel comfortable eating their raw sushi after experiencing their other seafood options. I actually really like their deep fried sushi (I know, not authentic, but tasty). The habachi grill is cool, but I don't use it personally. The ingredients don't interest me.
The ice cream bar is good. The dessert bar has lots of fruit options (and their is a salad bar btw). The banana pudding has Ritz crackers in it rather than nilla wafers? Desserts are mystery items with bland flavors... Just stick to ice cream.
Pretty run of the mill buffet. Nothing special, but not bad. Just a matter of finding what you do and don't like here. Don't go later than 7pm on weekdays as things tend to sit out then.
Overall, I do eat here on occasion. Not something I get too excited about since it does cost $10 a person for lunch plus $1.95 per drink (free refills/water).
Wait staff are a bit odd. Generally very nice, but can be very pushy for seemingly no reason. Like insisting that we give her our bank card for her to pay the bill and bring back the paid receipt (even though they have a desk to pay at when finished). Felt very uncomfortable about that transaction. Kept an eye on our card transactions for a while after that.
Bathrooms are very dark and in disrepair. Had been very nice at some point, but definitely falling behind. There's also a bit of junk build up on what had been a patio that is visible when pulling into the parking lot. It's a buffet.
3 stars because I've never gotten sick, but it's not anything special...
Read moreIt had been awhile since my last visit here and I won't be back. Assumed prices had gone up for dinner it was over $15 per person. We arrived at 6pm figured it would be a few other people there so Best chance for food to be at its freshest I was sadly mistaken probably only 20 people max at most and almost everything looked to had been sitting since lunch beings there weren't many people but they still should be switching the trays of food out for fresh after a couple hrs and that was not the case there was about 6 scoops of dried out burnt mac and cheese that Noone would touch so it sat there during [ur whole visit as did most things everything except the mini ribs were dried out including the fried shrimp, both types of crab, chicken on a stick, coconut shrimp, and much more even the rice and was scared to get food from the hibachi grill because the raw chicken looked disgustingly dry and discolored a darker brown on the edges. Salad was ok but lettuce was drenched in water from I assume ice that had been put directly on top. The Tabasco hot sauce bottles had no lids so the tops were so dried out and clogged none would come out totally disgusting. And within 45 mins of leaving I had to make 5 unpleasant trips to the bathroom with the next 2hrs. I highly recommend you save your money and your Bowles and toilet paper and Avoid this place at all costs. However the ice cream was great Hersheys brand and individual sealed cups but the cakes were crusty and dry the pineapple was browning and dried out and the bananas even with the strawberry sugar sauce on them were mostly half brown. Was also scared to eat the so called sushi which were the cheapest possible no real cuts of fish just some type of ground up fish and veggies in the rolls which there were only 4 to choose from. I've been to some bad Hibachi grills and buffets in my lifetime but this was pretty bad but our service was good except for some employee instead of vacuuming they just sweep the carpeted floor for 45 mins and the broom steadily bangs on the dust span with every sweep of the broom so loud and right next to you, to the point you can't even hear your people talking at your table. But sodas came out regularly and our waitress was very attentive especially when she put the check on the table while I was still eating and within 3 mins she came back to our table and touched the check 4 times mumbling you pay yet while I'm chewing my food and I said this first time I'll pay when I'm done lol it was 7:10 and I was being rushed out. I wish there was a 0 star rating to leave here but lessened learned there won't be a next time. And this was so disappointing because this place used to...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience at Lu Hibachi Buffet yesterday. I decided to come here to celebrate my 22nd birthday dinner with my boyfriend. From the beginning, the server made us uncomfortable by staring at us for prolonged periods, which was very noticeable and unsettling.
The food started off alright, as my first plate tasted okay. my boyfriend and I both got the meat on a skewer, and it was not properly heated, and cold. My second plate was even more disappointing. I had the half crab, which was supposed to be hot, but it was cold to the touch. The temperatures of multiple food items were definitely not food safe and were within range to create harmful food borne illnesses. my boyfriend was sick after eating here.
Additionally, the server stood and waited very close to our table, watching us eat. it was extremely uncomfortable. Immediately after I took my last bite, the woman took my plate. making me feel rushed. She was staring at us, waiting for us to finish. This is not the first time this has happened at this restaurant.
Although the buffet wss supposed to close at 9:30 p.m., by 9:00 p.m., we were the last customers, and the staff began cleaning up around us, removing food from the buffet, and mopping the floors while we were still seated. Immediately after the server removed my plate, she sat down the check and waited for our card, giving us no opportunity to grab another plate. This behavior made us feel so unwelcome and rushed, even though there was still plenty of time left before closing.
Overall, the combination of the poor service from the woman with a staring problem, and the very cold food which should have been much warmer, made for am extremely disappointing experience, especially on a special occasion. I would not recommend going to this place unless you enjoy feeling rushed, judged, and stared at. My boyfriend and I have given this place many tries, but after repeatedly having 1 bad experience after another, I can definitely say we will not be...
