EDIT: I have to change my glowing 5 to a 0. It is never stated, even when ordering appliances or services, but Home Depot outsources all their services to various and mulitple individual businesses. They do nothing in-house. It is very obvious they went with the cheaper companies who have no idea what they're doing.
Their delivery services and floor installation services are a joke. Home Depot themselves can't even communicate with their own outsourced people. Delivery and work dates don't even get cancelled. They just don't show up. No warning, no apologies, they just don't come and you've wasted an entire day off work for nothing. Then they re-schedule and don't come, again. When they finally show up, several cancelled appointments with no warning later, it's with damaged appliances or refusing to do the job Home Depot said they would.
Don't use Home Depot to install flooring because they will damage your home and then not fix the damage and claim it was like that when they got there. Seriously? What are they 4. Grow-up and be professionals. Home Depot needs to find better contractors or better yet have their own in-house program like Lowes.
I would strongly urge you to never order any appliances for delivery or have any services done by Home Depot because it will not actually be done by people who work for Home Depot. The people they outsource to are truly terrible at what they do. Home Depot needs to stop cutting corners and outsource to better people or use their own people because their current system is atrocious.
Original review: People are always around to help and are actually helpful, no matter what department you're in. I've placed large and small orders with them over the years and everyone has always been very nice and helpful. They recently upgraded their self-checkout software and monitors which makes it even easier and faster to use. It's the nicest self-check I've ever used actually.
Their store pickup is a dream, too. It's so fast and easy! The pickup lockers for small/medium items is the future. I was in and out in 30 seconds. So convenient and fast. Department stores should really follow their lead and implement something similar.
Any items that's too large for the lockers is available at the order pickup counter. There's no waiting for an employee to find another employee to go in the back and take 45 minutes to fetch your order (looking at you Lowes). Your store pickup items are available right behind the store pickup counter, ready, and waiting for you.
It's the little things, but it sure makes a huge difference when picking up orders. It's the fastest pickup I've ever had with any store. Department and Grocery stores really need to take note and improve their pickup and self-checkout experience because Home Depot knows what they're doing.
In addition, Home Depot tends to always have the lowest prices. Itās ridiculous the number of times Lowes has tried to charge me double the price of the exact same item that Home Depot has at a lower everyday price.
Iāve never had a negative experience at this location. Everyone is always helpful, polite, and around if...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had recently purchased a lawn mower here at the Hanover location. (John Deere zero turn) when I went to the store I spoke with the garden department manager and we looked at the lawn mowers out front. They had one on display but it had corrosion damage and was extremely dirty like it had been outside for at least a month. I told them I did not want that one and asked if they had another. He explained that one was coming in and needed assembled and inspected first. I agreed and they sent me to customer service to complete purchase. When the lawn mower was delivered I quickly realized they had given me the one from out front. They didn't even have the common sense or decency to clean the seat. It also would not start because the battery was dead and there was stale gas in the tank so who knows what kind of carburetor damage there was. Well I immediately called someone and they agreed to ship me another one. They send me another one days later and when I start it and try to drive it only sounds in circles because the right arm doesn't operate. So they had me call Finch and get them to pick it up and fix it under warranty. Meanwhile they left the other mower in my driveway for three weeks. After all this they gave me a measly 5% discount but they said I had to go in to get the discount personally not over the phone. When I did they said I had to return the other mower first and it would credit automatically. Then when they picked up the mower and I received no credit they said I have to go back in again. Also they promised me 24 month financing and I asked them the times about it and they said it was on there. When I received a bill it was 6 month financing so now I have to go in and change that. The customer service is pathetic and uncaring to say the least when I talk to them it's never anyone's fault apparently.
Lowes is next door to this location just go there.
(Don't have picture of dirty seat because my information tag is in the pic but it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently rented a floor sander from this store and I would strongly suggest looking somewhere else. Initially I rented an orbital sander and when I got home I was told by the contractor, this was not an orbital sander and was a buffer, The manager was very nice and worked with me and exchanged it for the correct one and did not charge us for the time we had the first one. The second sander was a nightmare! I rented it and then extended the time to 2 weeks and then for 1 month. Even though we called the store to let them know, they called multiple times a week and acted as though they had no knowledge of the extension and made comments i will add the comments to the system so no one calls to ask and then there was the corporate calls to ask the same question. The calls would come in as early as 7 am and throughout different times. It just didn't matter that we told them over and over about the ridiculous amount of calls, Then I discovered that the rental fee was 2 1/2 times the cost of several local rental companies for the exact same machine. $410 per month verses $982 per month. Big difference. I feel very taken advantage of as a consumer. Then on top of it, I see a fee for estimated damage fee of 10% of the cost ($83.20). When I questioned this charge and then the rental fee too, I was told that that is the cost and that they do not make the charges, I mentioned the 110% guarantee and I was told it does not apply to the rentals.
What a sham! I trusted Home Depot and have always valued them for all of my home improvement needs. I even drove an hour to the store just to do business with them.
I strongly suggest, be careful and do not accept that they...
