Edit We ordered takeout on 3/15/25. Our Pad See Ew and Fiery Chicken Pad Thai were everything. Killer spice and flavor, we love it!
Original We absolutely love Anchan House of Thai in Braintree and were elated to hear about Machim opening in Hanover. We tried it out the first Saturday of opening week. The service, drinks, and appetizers were excellent. No one makes a better Thai iced tea than these two restaurants! We always enjoy the Pork Fried Dumplings and Curry Triangles. I have two concerns that hopefully are smoothed out over the next few months. The front door creates a noticeable draft across the dining room and I was uncomfortably cold leaving my jacket over my lap. The Fiery Pad Thai entree did not taste like the one from Anchan. There is a noticeable flavor difference and it was not enjoyable. It tasted over charred and looked darker in color than I am used to. I am wishing Machim all the best and looking forward to coming back and trying...
Read moreI normally don’t write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience at Machim after two visits. My first visit was welcoming - it is last night's experience that I am sharing
The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is relaxing. However, dining alone didn't feel particularly warm or welcoming. I ordered an appetizer and a main dish. The appetizer, a nice soup, arrived quickly, but just two minutes later, my main course was served. I barely had a chance to enjoy my soup before feeling pressured to eat my dinner while it was still warm. While I was still eating, the waiter asked if I needed anything else. I replied no, and he promptly said he’d bring the check. Fortunately, I had finished my meal by then, but I still had half a bottle of sparkling water that he took away without a second thought. I felt very rushed throughout...
Read moreKeep in mind this restaurant is brand new. To start, the inside is BEAUTIFUL! Very welcoming. It’s a little chilly by the windows so bring a sweater if you’re typically cold like me. I’m not going to comment too much on service because they’re still getting their bearings. Not terrible but not organized. Everyone was very friendly and looked like they wanted to be there. The appetizers were very good. Chicken satay was juicy and slightly charred. Fresh veggie rolls were rolled tight, fresh and delicious. The pork dumplings were a big hit with my young kids. Entrees were just okay. The beef soup had nice rich broth but extremely salty. The pad thai was sticky and too sweet. The shrimp was overcooked as well, almost like it was precooked. I hope they are able to tweak a few things as they go forward. We’ll try again...
