Hanover House of Pizza — Restaurant in Hanover

I don't love to write a negative review but feel compelled to share my experience at Hanover House of Pizza. There is a sign on the front door alerting customers to wear a mask, "per BOH and Govenor Baker." Walked in to see all staff not wearing face masks behind a counter with no plexiglass shield. Thinking, okay that's weird but they have tables in front of the register to create a physical "social distance"...sure. That's when an employee comes from behind the counter carrying (presumably her own food) mask-less and bare handed. Now, I don't believe that gloves are necessary more sanitary than handwashing, often they create a false sense of security and can in fact spread more through cross-contamination. However I do believe that they are standard PPE in food service and restaurants in Massachusetts. We walked out. Hanover House of Pizza has unsafe sanitation practices and are endangering all customers and fellow employees by not complying with state mandated guidelines. Ordered two small Italians with mayo and mustard. After waiting almost an hour ( it's lunch time, i get the wait) sandwiches show up with just meat, mayo, and mustard. So i call the restaurant and politely ask what happened. The girl offers to send 2 new sandwiches, i thank her and am feeling very pleased by the response, which I was honestly not expecting. I tell her I'll have the sandwiches waiting here for when the driver comes back. She again surprises me by telling me they dont need them back. So i give the 2 plain sandwiches to a different crew working out back. The driver shows up, hands me a bag and apologizes for the mix up, i go inside and find a take out container full of lettuce tomato and onion, with 2 little containers of pickles. Guess who got to not have lunch today? And guess who will never order from this...

First I'll start with the good news...I had THE best grilled steak & cheese there! My eyes closed & I did a little dance.. Loved the pizza too as it wasn't cooked too much, still cheesy and could actually taste the sauce. Wings were awesome too! Great job!!! The staff were kind⭐⭐That said..you NEED to clean your restaurant...it's filthy. Filthy floors, walls, corners w/spiders and bugs...light switches were black. Very gross..so if you want to show people how amazing you are...get those staff to do a DEEP..DEEP clean...you'll shine!!! Don't let a nasty restaurant ruin the amazing food reviews you deserve..really. worst I've seen. It will turn happy taste buds sour..fast. BLEACH!!WIPE WALLS, DUST..MAGIC ERASER ON THE DIRT..Have pride in what you do.. starting with where your customers sit.. hopefully the kitchen...
