I went here for the first time for lunch today- the food was fantastic. I wish I could say the same about the service. I walked in and the host just stared at me so I told him there were two of us. He grabbed one menu and walked away, we assumed he was going to check outside to see if there was room for us out there as he didn’t say anything to us. He got about 20 feet away and then yelled “follow me” so we did. When we got out to the patio, he just stopped next to a table. Didn’t tell us it was ours, so we just sat and then he said “oh, so you want this one?”. Very odd interaction. Our server then came over and took our drink and food order. She brought our food out about 20 minutes later (the pear salad and chicken pesto club) and it was delicious! Once we finished our meal, we waited about 10 minutes until another server (not ours) came and cleared our plates. Our waitress was seemingly talking to her friends who had come into the restaurant and sat the the table directly across from us. We waited another 10 minutes for that same other server to ask if we’d like our check. All while our waitress was standing right there, ignoring us. Her friends were the only other table on the patio at that time and we were literally 5 feet away from her. The person I was with and I both tried to say “excuse me” to her so we could ask for the check prior to the other server asking us, but our server was too involved in her personal conversation to hear us. As someone who’s worked in foodservice for many years, I have A LOT of patience for servers. However, where the establishment was not busy AND the server was right there having a long personal conversation, I could not believe it. To the server with the pixie cut, you will make more in tips if you actually take care of your tables… to the server with the long blonde hair, thank you for helping us out even though we weren’t one of...
Read moreMy second review for Square Cafe because my first time was about dinner on a Saturday evening g which was just fabulous! This time it was 5 of us for lunch and it was just as good as our dinner. I mean just out if this world! We shared some of the best calamari ever and brussel sprouts that I really don’t care for but others wanted to try and I thought I died and went to heaven with my first bite! CRAZY GOOD. We shared sandwiches because the appetizers were large! The sandwiches were chicken and Turkey done so fantastically we all were super happy with every bite. Ashley was our server and did an outstanding job..was on her game. I have only one complaint and this happened both times so hopefully they will read this and not let it happen again. They are ready to take things off the table before we were done eating them. Why would anyone do that? I would still go back in a minute because it’s that good.. from all of us thank you again Square Cafe for a GREAT LUNCH! Keep up the...
Read moreRecommended by friends and stopped in for dinner. My 3 star rating is the combination of 4 stars for the ambiance, atmosphere and food, “ehh.” Restaurant is nicely decorated, clean, well lit and great ambiance. Greeted by hostess friendly and polite. Because it was a nice night, we chose to sit outdoors. Waitstaff was good. Waiter asked if we wanted bread and we said yes. Little did we know, we discovered the bread was not free. $4 chargers for the bread service when we received the bill. We ordered the house made Szechuan pork shrimp dumplings, crispy pork spareribs, Dan Dan noodles for 2 and Caesar’s salad with salmon. The dumplings came swimming in chili oil with pork belly. The chili oil was more oil than chili and the pork belly were very tough to chew. The spareribs were also hard to eat, dry but sauce was good. The noodles also swimming in oil and tasted Okay. The Caesar’s salad lettuce was a wilted and not fresh. We won’t be visiting again...
