i’ll start off this review by saying, I usually NEVER leave reviews unless I feel extremely compelled to. I dined in at Bar Harbor yesterday around noon with a friend of mine and my brother who came in for about an hour. After waiting about 10 minutes for a server, although the restaurant was barely full, I am not going to make assumptions as to why she took so long. But, she comes over with an attitude, barely speaking to us, takes our drink orders and appetizer order and then looks at us and walks away without saying anything. Once again, although the wait was a bit long, this part wasn’t the part that bothered me. After we received our drinks and appetizers, my little brother who had joined us moments before, and the original two of us, but in our food orders. After that, we had no contact with waitress for 45-50 minutes. No updates on the food, why it was taking so long, had to chaotically flag ANOTHER waitress down for drink refills. 45-50 minutes pass and she hasn’t said a single word to us. My brother physically gets up and leaves to go home and just asks for his food to go at that point and I honestly wish I could’ve done the same. You could tell the waitress was ignoring our table. We watched all the tables around us get their food, mind you, when we first came in the restaurant. it was almost empty. Finally, after waiting near to an hour, since I couldn’t get the attention of our waitress and was just ready to get up and leave, I once again flagged down the other waitress. She was the only good part about this dine in experience. We told her that the third person in our party left because of the wait and asked if we could just take our food togo. She is super sweet and understanding and goes to tell our waitress to pack up the food. Another 10 minutes pass before the food comes out, no explanation whatsoever she just quickly drops off the food without saying a word and runs away. After a few minutes i’m finally able to get her attention and I ask for the bill (a split bill) and to go boxes. Now, in my mind I am thinking, maybe due to the lack of communication and the wait, she will take something off. The running away makes it almost impossible to communicate with her. But nope, she drops it off, not split....and I am stunned. Over the course of literally five minutes as I am looking over this receipt, she comes and LEANS over the table to see if I have paid yet, when it is pretty clear I am holding the receipt. I am about to ask her if there’s something on the receipt that can be taken off, maybe even just the drinks, due to the wait and also for her to split the checks like we had asked originally, but of course, she’s gone before I can speak. For the third time, we are forced to flag down the other waitress who once again was so kind and understanding and said she’d pass it on to the other waitress. She comes over, goes ā€œoh you wanted the check splitā€ takes it and comes back, once again nothing taken off. At this point, I just wanted to get out of the restaurant and never come back. I pay, my friend pays and we get up and leave. IMO at the end of the day, I’m not sure why in the process of the food taking almost an hour, not once did she come and communicate with us whatsoever. I even handed the other waitress a tip because she was so kind and understand and I’m not sure we could’ve handled the situation...

My boyfriend and I stopped in this Saturday for a quick bite to eat early in the afternoon. We were greeted with a waitress that had horrible hygene including very bad teeth and breath as well as really long hair that was not tied back very well. She litterally rolled her eyes when we ordered waters instead of something from the bar. She rudely tossed our mozzeralla sticks on the table when the order came up. We were appalled as we were being very kind and polite to her. When the check came she sneered at us telling us to have a nice day, then proceeded to go hang back out with the gaggle of employees just sitting by the bar watching sports. My boyfriend wrote on the reciept a small note to try to be friendly to the next patrons. We left and had a four hour car ride home where we got stranded with no gas because she had called our credit card company and entered a false claim of an address mismatch to get the card cancelled. We confirmed with our bank this morning when they opened that this...

We were seated by the window directly across from the grille/kitchen. There are two big open window areas to see the people in the kitchen who are cooking your food. To my surprise, these people are not wearing gloves, touching there hair, face, nose, etc. while cooking food! Unexceptable. This was horrible to watch. We have been coming here for a long time and I was disgusted to see this. These people should not be in a kitchen. To note, the waitress said during COVID they could not find help so the new staff who I am referring to are the help they found out of desperation. I will not be returning here. On our way out I saw one of the kitchen people plop some fries on a plate with his bare hand that he had touched numerous parts of his...

The bar/grill itself was nice on the inside, good seating and decorated well. The service was a rough, they weren't understaffed but the staff seemed indifferent to customers. We waited for a long time before the hostess even acknowledged that we wanted to be seated. Once seated we had to flag down our server to get any attention, she was running around cleaning tables and acting far busier then she actually was, it was pretty interesting to watch but very frustrating at the same point. After we placed our order we received food very quickly, the kitchen was working well, but the food was pretty bland, nothing to remember. Overall the place needs a reality check.

This place has a great view and full menu with good music playing and a cozy environment. There's only so much room, BUT if you get a high top, you will see the lake and sailboats as well as a good amount of sky from any of the center line tables. 10 bar stools create ample space for the couple or single person to enjoy the food and spirits without having to take up a whole table. The booths line the far wall and are super comfy. Bathrooms are one stall, but lock well and the ladies room has a large poster of Bradley Cooper in Which is possibly unknowingly ironic considering he is a teetotaler. Lol! Great place. Pretty chill.

We attended the Hot Air Balloon festival at Bay Harbor. It was a fantastic time! Great atmosphere and great energy. My sister in-law Michelle Denise organized the event along with being the main contact person for all the on site vendors. Michelle always does an amazing job in putting events together and this year's hot air balloon festival was no exception!
