You have managed to become the BEST part about Harlingen. Through overcoming what Covid through at you, to reopening with limited staff, pushing through what life throws at you, the economy and it rising prices and now to your sister battling cancer(and she will persevere). Establishments like you are what we need in this town….in this world. For those that have never been, yes they are curbside. But in no way does that stop them from serving you the best, freshest food, with a smile. The food is just like grandma makes. It just makes you feel all warm and cozy, while certainly filling up the belly. My family and I love to order from here and we try to as often as we can. We love to support our local hidden gems and this restaurant is a GEM.

I was compelled to write this review, because of a post on Facebook. Someone complaining of the prices of a fajita taco and they can get a better deal at Stripes. Psshh…..I DON”T THINK SO!! You cannot compare a homemade taco to a stripes taco, no way. Prices for food have skyrocketed to an unimaginable high. Gas is ridiculous! Adjustments have to be made and therefore prices must go up. They have families that depend on them. Have I ordered a fajita taco from Panchito’s…yes I have. It was the best and freshest fajita taco that I have ever had, at any local restaurant. Though I must say, the carne guisada on the large 16 inch tortilla, with rice, beans, lettuce and tomato, is my absolute favorite. The 16 inch carne guisada taco, on the menu is $18.99 and the 9 inch is $10.99. Is that too much for a taco? Not really. Is it worth it? 100% YES!! Will I order it again? ABSOLUTELY!! You pay for the quality of the food, the heart that goes into the cooking, the smile and warm greeting when it’s brought out to you. I will come back over and over again. In fact, I had Panchito’s for lunch today. I had their lunch special of Calabaza con Pollo and it was THE BEST! I may sound like I am over exaggerating but my taste buds don’t lie….and neither does my belly.

With that said, Jeanie, THANK YOU. Thank you for providing your customers with excellent food and service. Thank you for all the sacrifices you have made to keep moving forward and providing Harlingen with the best homemade food. Thank you for being the light for the community and helping others in need. We have been to this place 3 times. We have come back because the prices are very affordable and the food is always great.

We came across this place because our go-to restaurant was closed for the day so we saw this place that was packed, so we decided to try it.

Almost every time that we arrive here nobody greets you and it is hard to find a table. There's nobody that seats you and we usually have to sit on a dirty table until somebody acknowledges us. This usually takes 5-6 min.

The servers are friendly but only just enough that's recquired. There's usually about 2-3 servers for the whole restaurant so I understand they have their work cut out for them.

On our last visit we ordered mostly breakfast food and asked to have tortilla chips while we waited for the food and the waitress advised us that it would be $1.99 when this hasn't happened before so we just paid it. We also saw several people arrive and seem lost that nobody was taking care of them even though the owner was sitting at one of the tables just chatting. This place as an EXTREME lack of customer service but I guess the food is good enough and the prices low enough that it keeps people...

Called for 30 minutes and no answer had to go in an place order to go. I advise the waiter that took my order I had been calling for half an hour and he said they have been so busy they haven't had a chance to answer phone. Customers were even telling waitstaff to answer phone and they still wouldn't answer. After I let waiter know the next call that came in they answered and took order down. I paid at 11:03am and was told the wait would be 10mins. I didn't get my order til 11:30am and in that time the phone was ringing like crazy and they never answered it. And two tables walked in way after I did and got served before I got my order. The food is great and so is pricing but but they need to improve on customer service.
