Really disappointed to have to leave this review as I have frequented Duffy’s several times and have always spoken highly of it to others. Last Saturday, my fiancé and I dined here for Small Business Saturday as we traditionally do. We waited over 40 minutes for appetizers (there were only a handful of other tables). During this time, our waitress offered no apology, no explanation, and did not check up on us. One of the dipping sauce holders for our app had a sizable crack in it, which, according to heath code standards, is a violation as it can cause food born illness. I pointed this out to our waitress, who 1. Did not seem aware of this regulation, and 2. Did not seem to care enough to pull said dish out of rotation. For my entree, I had ordered the garden salad without the customary goat cheese. As our waitress was setting down the salad, I immediately noticed the cheese and asked for it to be corrected. A few minutes later, she brought back THE SAME SALAD (photos). The kitchen made a half-a$$ effort to pick off the crumbled cheese, instead of making a new one. 🤢 At this point, I had bit my tongue long enough and asked to speak to the manager on staff. We waited over 15 minutes to speak to him. Only for our waitress to tell us he was bartending and would not be able to come see us. She even expressed annoyance on his part that he was “bothered”. The salad remained untouched and when I brought it to the attention of our waitress, she agreed that it was pure “laziness” (her word” on the kitchen’s part. I also addressed my other concerns with her since no one of authority would speak to us. Imagine my shock when the bill was brought to us and the salad that was made incorrectly twice (and mishandled) and untouched was still on the tab. I had to ASK for it to be comped. The only resolve I was given that day was a business card for the owner. I was advised to send her an email with my concerns. I did just that, had to wait over 4-5 days to hear a response, and only got a condescending, brief, dismissive message in return. I am angry, disappointed, and will never visit this establishment again. It is clear the owner & staff take very little pride...
Read moreI had previously given this place a 5 star review but after tonight’s experience it would be an injustice to not correct it. While Duffy’s has great food, if you have an issue, you will find that their customer service is poor. I have been a supporter of Duffy’s since I was a kid and I was sad to see wing night go. Even without wing night I continued to go to Duffy’s because overall I had had a good experience and wanted to support local business. So tonight I went in and asked about their wings, unfortunately since they have discontinued wing night you can no longer get wings in a smaller quantity than 12. So I got all of my wings in their weekly special which was a Spicy Pesto sauce. When I was served my wing I was a little shocked to see a creamy bright green pile in front of me. I know pesto is green but I was not prepared for this unappetizing plate. There is a reason they discontinued green ketchup in the early 2000s. I tried my first one and it was ok. I tried an other and it only got worse, and by the third I couldn’t eat anymore. I asked if I could swap out my wings for a different flavor since I couldn’t finish what I had been served based on flavor alone. Our server was great but policy states you can’t swap the flavors out, so he went to his manager to see if an exception could be made. The manager came out only to tell me there was nothing he could do other than let me take the food I didn’t want or to spend even more money to get something edible. Naturally I didn’t take the food and paid for a meal I didn’t eat, only to come home and have cold cereal, at least I could choose my...
Read moreUnfortunately, I did not enjoy my visit to Duffy's tavern upon arrival. Our hostess was kind and very accommodating; however, our waitress was impatient and seemed annoyed with us. I requested a table for 10 for my brother's graduation dinner. Because English is my family's second language, I took The liberty to help facilitate orders to make things easier for our waitress. She took our orders rather quickly, and a few of my guests pointed out that she was being short with us and quickly took away our menus. My mother ordered fries with no salt, but they came salted. She also ordered a dry red wine, and she brought out a white wine which we let her know was incorrect. I appreciated her wanting to fix the wine order, but my mom decided it was fine. My brother ordered the 1819 burger with no coleslaw, but it came with coleslaw. When we let the waitress know, her response was, “you didn’t say u didn’t want coleslaw” she didn’t offer an apology or any resolution to the order. And when my brother repeated that he said no coleslaw, she said again in an even more defensive tone, “you didn’t say that” She told us she would ask the kitchen to make another when she came. She informs us the kitchen refused to make him another. I even told her if it would be an extra cost, I would pay it. She then told me the kitchen was closed. I had lost my appetite and was ready to leave. I asked for our check, paid, and we went immediately. I wish she would have taken a moment to be patient with us and listen to what we ordered. She seemed rushed and annoyed with us and did not make us feel...
