Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Harrison Township

The only reason I chanced this location recently, is bc its more convenient to stop at on my way home from work. However I won't be making that mistake again, I will happily take the additional 15 minute detour to our favorite dairy queen location. Firstly instead of using the app I wanted to try the drive thru to ask for a small side of chili for my cheese curds, something our favorite location introduced to us (best idea ever), bc the app doesn't have any option for a side of chili. Anyways it wasn't until I paid and had my receipt that I realized I was charged for a whole chili dog just for a small condiment container of chili. I told myself it was fine. I wished they had told me when I was ordering that was how they'd charged me for the chili I wanted, I would've taken the hotdog too as a surprise for the dog. Oh well next time I'll just use the app in the future. But then I got home with the order and realized I was missing my queso dip for my chicken strips. Maybe it was bc I was already annoyed with how I was charged for my chili, but dairy queen chicken strips aren't exactly juicy or flavorful, they need some kind of sauce to actually enjoy. Thankfully I had queso at home, but was still annoyed by the thought, if I hadn't gone home or hadn't recently bought groceries how I'd be stuck eating plain dry chicken strips. But then I finally had the final straw. When I was about done with my meal and saved my toast for last, all it took was a single bite and I was running to the sink to wash my mouth out. Dairy Queen has improved their food over the years but still need to work on their experience. The service isn't always fast or accurate ... but, what fastfood restaurant is? We ordered food and ice cream on the way home from an event. Their chili dogs and chicken strips are excellent; truly tasty! The Blizzards are good. The burgers are ok. Their banana split is one of the worst I've ever had. There was very little topping and the banana was so green it was too firm to cut with the flimsy plastic spoon they gave me. But the most annoying part of our visit involves the container for the banana split. We got our food to go and we knew it may melt a little on the way home. But we didn't expect the container for the banana split to be designed so poorly. I had ice cream all over my pants and the car by the time we made it home. The container is far too shallow and the melted ice cream has no where to go except over the edge. The lid doesn't keep the contents from spilling out. The container is made of a plastic that doesn't provide any insulation to maintain the temperature of the ice cream. None of the other ice cream melted. Just the banana split. Went there today. Went to the drive up Placed my order Vanilla shake and strawberry shake The young lady hands me a Vanilla shake goes back in for five minutes comes back with a chocolate shake I tell her I ordered a strawberry shake The young lady tells me No I didn't Then she goes back in for five minutes comes back with a strawberry shake I asked where's the whipped cream like on the other she leaves the shake on the window goes back beings back a can of whipped cream squirts on some and walks off in a huff So I called the store to speak to the manager After 50 rings And yes I counted them lolololol Ok I was a little mad Only because I love this DQ always been great So finely get them to pick up the phone A young lady named Lacey Tell me that she cant give me the name of the DQ managers name And Here I am Not My favorite DQs Finest hour..But I believe That whomever The store manager is...
