El Mariachi – Harrison, Ohio: A 5-Star Experience

Walking into El Mariachi, I was instantly captivated. The vibrant colors, authentic decor, and the rhythm of the music pulled me in—I wanted to dance right then and there. The staff added to the magic, their warmth and hospitality creating an atmosphere that feels alive, welcoming, and full of joy.

The food? Simply fantastic. Margaritas strong and perfectly balanced, guacamole fresh and zesty. Every bite of the tacos and entrees was a delight, cooked with care and flavor that hits just right. Presentation and taste combined beautifully, making each dish a celebration on its own.

Ambiance-wise, the energy is infectious. It’s the kind of place where the music, the mood, and the people all come together to make you feel like you’re somewhere special. Prices are fair, but honestly, you’re paying for an experience that leaves you smiling, tapping your feet, and already planning your next visit.

In short: El Mariachi in Harrison isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a vibrant, joyful experience. Drinks, food, music, and atmosphere all perfectly aligned. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Second time here in a month and I won’t be back. The first time the food was great but the service was HORRIBLE. This time the food was awful. I got birria tacos and they were honestly the worst birria tacos I’ve ever had. Zero flavor, the tortillas weren’t soaked in the dipping broth, the meat and tortillas were both so dry and gross. I took one single bite and didn’t touch it. The server didn’t come back to the table until after the other people at the table were almost done eating. My husband tells him I wasn’t happy with my food and I said yeah I just didn’t like it I’m sorry and he said why and I said they were not like any birria tacos I’ve ever had and I didn’t like them. He didn’t offer to replace at all or remove them from the table. Didn’t apologize. When we got our bill it was still on there. I just paid it to get out of this place as quick as possible. Definitely won’t be back. The mango marg was the only good thing...

I wanted to leave this place a 5 star review BUT, I can't. I don't know why we were charged a FEE for using credit card, but we were. The food was really good, the staff was good and the drinks were really good (but pricy, $13 for a SKINNY margarita is a little outlandish, especially for the size that it was, but OK.)

Why are you guys charging fees for credit card use? I understand a small shop doing so if you spend below $5 or something, but a big restaurant? And we spent over $40, so..... Please explain this to me. I don't care if it's "just $1.09", if you're doing this to EVERYONE and hardly anyone notices, you're pocketing these fees on the daily. I DO see the message at the bottom of the receipt that says "The surcharge of 2.5% of the total only will be applied if you pay with a credit/debit card", but this is crazy to me, I've not had this happen at any other sit down...

Carry Out Order: I ordered the Faijta Taco Salad with only chicken for my meat and no refried beans. It only had lettuce, chicken, guacamole and cheese; I was missing the grilled vegetables, and there was very little chicken. My boyfriend ordered the chicken faijitas with extra chicken, he didn’t receive extra chicken and was missing the sour cream that’s supposed to come with it.
