Luigi's Original Restaurant — Restaurant in Harrison Township

I had dinner at Luigi's on Sunday September 10th. When we arrived there we where told that it was their last day open until they got repairs made to the restaurant and some of the food like fish and other foods with a short shelf life would not be available because of repair situation which was okay. So this party of 4 sat down to eat. When the waitress came we asked what was not available she said only thing not available at that time was oysters which was no problem. The first problem was delivered by the waitress was bread basket, The bread basket was limited to 1 basket per table, but the catch was we got 5 small pieces for 4 people, now mind you this is some of the best tasting bread around that you can literally make a meal out of that, a party of 4 usually gets to to three baskets. Next problem was my order, I ordered whitefish and ate about 3 pieces and something was right so I ask one of the people in our party to taste it.They came to the same conclusion and another person at the table broke a piece and smelt it... it was spoiled. Call the waitress over and see took the plate away and offered me some other choices and I took the perch which was okay. The big problem here is not that the fish was spoiled it was they carried on like my meal was fine. I ended up eating the perch after the others in the party was finished and ended up with a funny tummy the rest of the night.They did not offer a free desert or even a small percentage of the meal for inconvenience. First time visit tonight . Overall it was ok . We made a reservation three weeks ahead and when we arrived , on time , we were given a booth right by the front door . The booth was small but everything in this place is small , very jammed together . Our waitress overall was fine , she did what you hope to expect. I ordered the Luigi Whitefish and my Girlfriend got the Frog Legs . The bread basket , was amazing , and who ever raves about a bread basket ? We both had a choice of soup or the house salad , so we both got the salad with ranch . The salads were good , not big but decent and the ranch dressing was fine . My Whitefish was a decent sized piece and her Frog Legs looked ok , about 5 of them . The meals came with a pasta choice so I got linguine with palomino sauce and she got angel hair with marinara. Both sauces were surprising lame , we almost got pasta dishes for our main entrees, so glad we didn’t . The marinara tasted like Ragu and the palomino was bland , somewhat tasteless . Neither meals came with a vegetable , would of been nice to have some green beans or asparagus on the plate next to our main entrees Our meals cost $26 and $22 and $ 11 for her one glass of wine. Usually have such great service but today I feel like I should share my experience. 7/18/2020 18:16 after working a long day I was simply looking forward to fulfilling meal which doesn’t require me cleaning dishes tonight but completely discouraged after the young lady who answered the phone with a low “luigis” which usually is an upbeat voice, “Lugis, How can I help you” but maybe it’s bad day for sis ok, then I go to say I’d like to place a carry out, she says go ahead. In the middle of me explaining what I would like she says “I CAN NOT HEAR ANYTHING YOUre saying” so I speak up tell my order she asked soup or salad after taking long pause after I speak. Then says something I can’t understand so I ask are you asking a question? Turns out she’s says next. Next . Next. I just don’t understand why simply politeness is so hard for people especially at a business.
