You know it’s not often that you run into a restaurant that is so finally run that it inspires you to write a review. And that is exactly what Salute is…a finely run machine! It runs like clockwork. And best of all their employees are exemplary. I don’t know the restaurants in Hartford anymore so in real life, I have two friends…on FB. 4000 and mostly people I’ve either sold houses too or I have performed their marriages. 😉 A month ago I did crowdsourcing. I went onto my Facebook page and asked the world” “Hey, I haven’t been to Hartford in years. What’s a good restaurant?” And overwhelmingly people said Salute! So now start the kudos… I called to make a reservation and one of the managers (I think his name was Dan) answered. Talk about delightful and fun to talk to.🥳 He was charming, charismatic, and just made making a reservation as fun as it could ever be! We were going up to HTFD because our son was graduating from college at the Hartford Civic Center. Yesterday arrived-Graduation day… And my husband and I decided to pop in to Salute before hand -just to check it out. We sat at the bar ordered cocktail and hors d’oeuvres. The best part of that were the bartenders who were so wonderful to talk to. I spied a gentleman who I assumed to be the owner… I asked one of the bartenders and he verified that. At the time the owner was working on a project and I since there is nobody else around, sauntered over to him & Quietly said…” Why don’t you let one of the minions do that?”😝 His response was humble and sweet…” I am a minion”! right off the bat I liked him as he is humble. I introduced myself & we had a grand time chatting it up…along with some chuckles. 😉 We attended our son’s graduation and came back later on for our dinner reservation. Once again greeted by the bartenders who by now felt like friends😉 and a delightful Hostess who was just kind and caring. What I like about the places, you can walk in strangers and you leave friends. Now to the main event; FOOD! Scott was our server and he was perfect! The food was absolutely stellar delicious! Earlier in the day, we had tried their infamous garlic bread! It was perfectly cooked with a nice little crunch on the bottom, which I really enjoyed instead of mushy.🤣😉 My husband had the Giobatto. If you like spice, this is the one to get! Our son, Trey, The graduate, enjoyed his shrimp piccata! (I enjoyed it too😉) We both thought it was cooked absolutely perfectly. I had the lobster special of the evening, which I can’t remember the name but anything with lobster is always delicious when it comes to my taste buds. That had a mushroom cream sauce which was sublime! The three of us shared a delicious crème brûlée 4 dessert with a round of coffee’s and off we went back down to the beach… Happy as larks With our choice of Salute to celebrate a special evening! You will love it too! 😉🥳🎉 Trust me!

I will start by saying "thank you Pablo". He was our waiter, and not only was he very friendly and accommodating, but he also made the 4 of us feel very welcome as though we were invited into his home. He alone deserves a 10 star rating. Thank you, Pablo. We went on a Saturday afternoon to meet our 2 friends for lunch. Parking was not available on the street, so we parked in the paid parking garage a few doors up from the restaurant. We walked the few doors down to the restaurant and were greeted very quickly and warmly. The first question was if we parked in the garage. The greeter took and validated our ticket, gave me instructions on how to use the ticket so that we only had to pay $4.00. We were promptly seated and thus began our experience with Pablo. He allowed us time for social conversation, and then we placed our order. Our friends had the Rose Pasta, my wife the Chicken Gnocchi, and I had the Greek Salad. The plates arrived in a short amount of time, and they were full. All the comments were of great satisfaction. My salad was great. The only suggestion, which I didn't make, was that there should have been more Feta cheese, and this would have enhanced an already good tasting salad. Again, there was no pressure to hurry us up. We ended up spending about 2 1/2 hours with 2 great friends and conversation, great food, and outstanding service. Btw we took what was left of the Chicken Gnocchi and the Lava cake home. The restroom facilities were clean, and all necessary items were in place Out total check averaged about $18.00 per person. Well worth it. A definite 5 star recommendation. I know that we will be going back for seconds.

Um wow where do I begin. Not being from the area I went on TripAdvisor to search for the number 1 restaurant and Salute came up. We were not disappointed! Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and amazing manager Jay (more on him in a little bit) who quickly seated my wife and me. We were quickly greeted by our amazing server who provided widespread knowledge of the menu and gave us some great options and recommendations. My wife ordered the chicken gnocchi and I ordered the chicken parm - both cooked to perfection, hot, and delicious!! So filling and great value. More then halfway through our meal I was unfortunately figeting with my wedding ring and dropped it in between the booth at the restaurant. Despite a few attempts to get the ring back on my own I was not successful. A few of the patrons around our table tried to help but despite best efforts were unsuccessful as well. That is where Jay, one of the most determined and thoughtful people I have ever encountered in my entire life sprung into action. Seeing the visible stress on my face he did everything possible to get my wedding ring back and after many attempts - he was successful! LITERALLY saved my life. As a business owner myself I only wish that I had an identical team that was just as dedicated, knowledgeable and just overall great people to go above and beyond in even the most obscure circumstances. You have gained not only a customer for life but also an advocate for anything that this team looks to do. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for everything and we will certainly be back anytime we are in the area again.

This restaurant is a gem and worth going out of your way to not miss. Pasta ala vodka - Very creamy. Delicious for enjoyers of cheese and soft textures, not designed for the lactose intolerant. Sharp, unique flavor. Tasted good hot at the restaurant & tasted equally good cold in a to-go box. Chicken and shrimp are available add-ons for hungrier customers. Shrimp fra diablo - Extremely spicy for my weak tongue; mildly spicy for my father, who expressed that he was overall content with his selection. Waiter mentioned before ordering something about spice level (and potentially spice level adjustment?); would recommend listening closely before ordering. Spasta pesto - Aesthetic and good for those who like vegetables. Noodles are cold towards the base; this may be by design. Was like opening up a treasure box. In terms of food 5/5. There was at least one suitable dish per person, and the prices were reasonable (under $100 for 3 people). Three staff members said that all the dishes they have are good - we believe them wholeheartedly. Service was impeccable as well. 5/5. Everyone from door to table and back was nice, fast, considerate. They were even humorous and open to conversation at times, even though the location looked busy. Would recommend having a reservation. Atmosphere 5/5.

My fiance and I are from New York and we came into town to see a concert. We googled a place to eat near our hotel and stumbled across Salute. We walked in and were greeted with such friendliness. In addition, our waiter was very personable, friendly and it honestly felt as if we’ve known him for years. He suggested some popular dishes on the menu. First and foremost… GET THE CHEESEY BREAD!!!! We ended up trying one of their specials on the menu (lobster bisque) and we ordered shrimp fra diabalo. The food was fantastic. Moreover, the atmosphere was clean and very laid back. I also noticed there were regulars there. Not sure if it was the owner or manager but i saw two random customers come in and they were greeted by their first name and a hug. They were also seated with kindness. That same man came to our table and engaged with us. I must say that Salute has such a great aura with amazing staff, and FRESH delicious food. We will 100 % be coming back for sure. I highly recommend this place!!!! P.s. I forgot to take pictures of our food… but I did capture a picture of my pretty drink made to perfection!!! The Sunset!

Let's start with the food, absolutely exceptional. Caesar salad/ dressing was probably the best caesar I've ever had. I would most definitely go here solely for this item. The cheesey bread was out of this world, I am very much a carb girl and this was my favorite aside from the salad. My sister got the chicken and vodka sauce and I had a few bites and the chicken was so tender and delicious paired with the sauce, you can't ask for anything better. Now the service was what made this place really stand out. Our server was amazing and not to mention the owner or manager coming over and making sure everything was just right. It was also my sister's birthday and they made this experience into something we will never forget. Everyone was so kind and friendly, giving a home-like feeling. I felt very comfortable and very welcomed. If I could give 10 stars and then some I would. If anyone is on the fence about going here just do it and I promise it will not disappoint. Loved everything about this place, it was truly a perfect experience.
