Matty D's Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Hartford

Well I drove 30+ minutes to check this place out since my nickname is also Matty D, been meaning to check it out for years now whenever I visit CT. So I get there at 10:25 (this was 35 minutes ago as of me writing this btw) looks like a hip clean place as I pass maybe four or five tables of people and notice about 8 people at the bar, 2 groups outside as well. As I go to sit at the bar this woman comes up to me and says they are actually closing and I asked "at 10:30?" and she said yes tonight we're closing early and I said well I just wanted a drink and she said sorry... I said well OK then, well also it's a bit random but my name is actually Matty D and I've never been here and I would be interested in purchasing one of these shirts...and then she just said no and looked completely unamused and clearly didn't care about any of the words I had spoke during our encounter so I just left and drove 35 minutes back to where I'm staying and wrote this review.... Horribly disappointed, really a let down, hopefully the owner (Matty D?) reads this. Cant comment on the food or drink but F- on the staff apparently.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The customer service was terrible. Got there right when they opened at 4pm put in appetizers and drinks got the drinks after about 40 mins the waitress came to take our entree orders and totally skipped over 2 of the people in our 6 people group but after an hour and a half of getting there they brought out three of our entrees still no appetizers about 10 mins pass and they bring the appetizers but two of the people still haven’t gotten their entrees!! Our group is very understanding the place was packed but the service was unapologetic towards the fact that we were one of the first tables and didn’t get the whole tables food until 2 hours in. While other tables surrounding us were getting food. 0/10 would...

Will not return. Scammer alert. Very disorganized when it comes to service. Does not give me an itemized bill. I had to ask several times for it after she swiped my card (which is the first issue. When I finally get one, I was 1. overcharged for several items on my bill. 2. she changed what I did order to more expensive things. Not only did they charge me a $44 tip on drinks only at the bar (no service or waitressing). They also charged a bunch items I never ordered. I kept yelling out to the bartender that it was wrong. As she walked away, the bartender said “oh well” and didn’t return. It is very clear they are in the scamming business. They purposely do not take a card so that they can stack your bill and have you pay some...
