I went to this location at its busiest time on a Sunday for a party of three. Naturally for a weekend, they said there was a wait time and WAS THERE A WAIT TIME! That day they said it would take an hour and fifteen minutes to be seated(which took exactly that time). Being that it was the weekend and we were already there, my party and I found that reasonable and decided to wait it out. As far as I know they currently aren't taking any reservations so if you are going on the weekend go early or prepare to wait. They take your name and number and text you a link to show where you were at in the queue. With covid guidelines there are both indoor and outdoor seating. There are benches outside and that day was an overcast windy high 50s but they do have outside heating lamps both by the dining and bench waiting areas. Their outdoor seating also has umbrellas. It did start to rain and they halted outdoor seating which I believe would have lessened the wait time had that seating still been an option. After being seated a waiter was swift to take our order and bring us drinks. We did the bottomless brunch which gives you your typical selection of brunch drinks (bellini, house sangria, mimosas) but they do also have specialty drinks which we skipped this time. We tried most of the flavors for the mimosas and to my personal taste there could have been more alcohol but they were still good on the fruity side. Their burger benedict was okay, the burger could have been juicier for medium well, the hollandaise could've been better (it seemed that the lemon juice had split from the sauce) and the home fries were a bit lacking in the crispiness and seasoning department. My friend got the Nutella Coconut pancakes and said they were good and honestly, can you really ever go wrong with nutella? After our plates were cleared we were asked if we wanted one more round of drinks for the road, and were given them in to go cups. Their overall atmosphere is a 8/10, clean, good service, loud bumpin music and plenty of areas and little things to give you options to choose from for your IG worthy post. As someone who is from NYC and been to many a brunch spot, I would recommend this for a girls meet up or date spot as there aren't that many vibe worthy places to choose from in CT. Overall, I think the food can be better seasoning/taste wise; its pretty basic. However, this place has potential. I would visit again to try their other menu options and...
Read moreWas excited to come here for the first time for my friend's birthday. We had a party of 7, and when we arrived at 11 it was relatively slow and chill, though there were several more tables filled by the time we left. The decor is cute and trendy, and definitely on point if you're the type to want to take cute selfies there as it is clearly encouraged. I recommend snagging a booth seat as the chairs are rather uncomfortable with no padding. All the drinks looked amazing. Some friends got coffee drinks, two of us got bottomless (mimosa for one and sangria for me.) I got tropical sangria and it tasted great! They were not very forthcoming with the refills despite not being particularly busy for most of our visit and we definitely needed to make sure we got them. My boyfriend got a regular coffee and at one point the waitress asked if he'd like another. He said yes but never got it. As far as the food, everything looked great aside from the overabundance of arugula as a garnish. Easy to remove, of course, or eat if you like arugula but I would debate that a heap of arugula, especially placed on top of the bun of an egg sandwich for example, is not a garnish. I got the classic eggs Benny and it was very tasty. Excellent hollandaise. The home fries had great flavor but were barely warm unfortunately. Still ate it and enjoyed nonetheless. Boyfriend also mentioned his food was lukewarm at best. I did notice a couple with two kids came in and left after about 20 minutes as they didn't receive service. I suppose I don't blame them, but the place had gotten decently more busy in that timeframe so patience is key. To be fair in this day and age most people probably take a good 10-20 minutes to look at the menu and be ready to order anyhow. All in all I did enjoy my food and drinks and will likely come back but I think more attentive service is in order for a place like this. Definitely need to take into account that they offer things like bottomless drinks that, according to the menu, should be refilled every 20 minutes and the fact that their presentation is over the top and so would take more time and effort to make (serving coffee on trays with stuff written in chocolate etc.) I'm not sure if the servers make the drinks or not. If so maybe a dedicated drink maker on hand would help. Maybe more severs on shift as it appeared there were only two plus a manager or owner who was greeting people...
Read moreWas on the road so did a google search of nearby places and found this one that was some what packed but no waiting list. When a customer enters a restaurant and the sign says wait to be seated why does the host ask “what do you need or how can I help you?” After I was seated sat and waited couple minutes saw the sign for ordering food online scanned QR code but the site wasn’t working. So sat and waited some more counting time as waiters were breezing by. Some woman I believe who’s the owner comes by and with a bewildered expression ask “Do you have a waiter I will get you a waiter” then when the 30 minute mark hit I looked around checked to see if there were anyone of similar likeness saw a reasonable amount. From the reviews I see that there are many others who had positive experience unfortunately I wasn’t able to experience it. I ended up having to leave after waiting too long and kind of vexed. Post experience I asked couple random people how long is a reasonable wait for a single person to wait in a restaurant, two people said 5 minutes two others said 20. So a 30 minute wait is a reasonable amount of time to walk out. I don’t think I’m out of line. The experience was a lesson in patience and taught me to understand that regardless of how simple a job may seem, for some people that low skill job may be difficult for the person carrying it out. In this case managing a restaurant isn’t the owners forte and being descent waiters isn’t possible for the people on call that day. But after walking out, there was no other time where I so deeply wanted bunch of insignificant people to experience some final destination type moment when they...
