Great cocktails in a great atmosphere. There's food too (really creative, eclectic apps. Don't miss the BLTs with lots of thick-cut bacon and oven roasted tomatoes), but the focus here is on the beverages. Classics like the sazerac, sidecar, and even the cosmo have been elevated with unusual ingredients, and the menu includes possets and punches that most bars wouldn't even try to serve. The emphasis on drinks extends to their presentation as well: cocktails are mostly stirred, not shaken to death (unless, appropriately, they include cream or egg white) and properly strained to remove ice flecks. They are served in gold-rimmed coupes and collins glasses with stainless steel straws, and metal cocktail picks are used for garnishes. Really unfortunate experience in what seemed like a super cool place. It was busy and we were told to take a table that hadn't been cleared - no problem. It took at least 5 minutes for the waitress to clear it (but not wipe it down) - again, whatevs, we weren't in a hurry. She said she'd be right back. We picked out drinks...and waited another 10 minutes while other tables were waited on and the waitress avoided eye contact. Finally we flagged her down to ask - nicely - if we could place an order and she responded, "As I said, I'll be right with you." So we left. Look, I get when a place is busy you have to wait, but I could do without the snide attitude when we'd been nothing but patient and pleasant. One star for atmosphere which was amazing. I was there last night with a couple of friends. The service from our waitress was great. However, we decided to put two tables together (while not busy) because it was a big group and a guy (that wasn’t our waitress) with very poor communication skills and consumer service decided that what we did was wrong. In my personal opinion, it could had been delivered better. He was very very rude. Knowing my friends and I. If he would asked nicely we would had apologized and moved the tables back but he was THAT rude that we closed our tap and left to avoid arguments and confrontation. I think this person...
