I have been meaning to leave this review for MONTHS now and am FINALLY getting around to it.
My husband and I were in town for the weekend were driving around famished and happened upon this little cafe. I have to admit that our expectations were not very high, since it seemed to be more of a tavern than a restaurant, and had done out at a pricey cafe in NYC the night before where the food was tasty but the service subpar (at best) but we were PLEASANTLY surprised at what a great experience it turned out to be!
The moment we stepped in the door, both women behind the bar cheerfully greeted us with smiles. One escorted us to our table and took our drink order. I only wanted water, but my husband ordered a Diet Coke and then offered me a sip of it, asking if it tasted OK. I hadn't had a fountain DC in years and admitted that it tasted a bit off. One of our servers had obviously witnessed the exchange and immediately came over to ask if we were unhappy with the drink. We said that it tasted "a little off", but no big deal. She said that the canister might need replacing and insisted on dumping out the drink, attaching a new syrup canister and subsequently providing a far better tasting drink for him.
I ordered the Alpine chicken sandwich on a GF roll and was delighted at the quality of the prep, the taste of the chicken, mushrooms and onions but mostly was shocked at how soft, fresh and moist the roll was for being gluten free. The sandwich was delicious and the accompanying side of fries was just the way I like them: thick, crisp on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside.
As we were preparing to leave, a groom and his groomsmen stopped in for shots on their way to his wedding. When we approached the bar to ask for our bill, the wedding party asked us to partake in some shots (we declined since we were getting back on the road) but wished them all well. One of the gentlemen grabbed the two of us to pull us into their celebratory photos. =)
Overall, the food was delicious, the atmosphere upbeat, and the service top notch; very attentive,...
Read moreGreat bottomless mimosa! They refill your glass regularly, I never had to ask for more. Had chicken and waffles, the chicken wasn't so great was a bit dry and flavorless. HOWEVER, GREAT SERVICE!! So great I had to learn their names. I went to the bartender, Kristen to ask who I should spesk to. She looked at me, acknowledged me then said someone will be back to help me out. Tony then came and before I said anything Kristen told Tony that I was waiting to sit. Tony then greeted me and told me about their 2hour table seat limit (new covid rules). He let me know that I will be seated soon. Once seated, Janaia, greated us at the table and offered drink suggestions. Between her and Elija, my glass was never empty. They filled out mimosas regularly and checked in regularly as well. The DJ was amazing! I even got up danced a bit. He played Jamaican music, hip hop and mixed with throwbacks and new ones. Definitely a good sunday brunch spot, but would need to try other food on the menu. Street parking and parking lot are...
Read moreRed rock has always been a go to for me. Until a couple of weeks ago we had a get together there for my brother in laws birthday and purchased pans of food. The owner who I believe name was Dom or Dan was very rude and disgusting. He needs to work on his interpersonal and customer service skills. One of my brother in law friends came down from New York and brung a bottle of liquor in the establishment. The owner stopped and told him to leave. Instead of just communicating and letting him know it was not allowed in his business. And told us we can all leave he’s not dealing with it. He just assumed he knew it wasn’t allowed every state, town and establishment is different I know places where you can bring outside liquor, cakes and food to places but they charge a fee. He made us feel very uncomfortable & unwelcomed this might. Especially after spending close to $700 on food not to mention all the drinks that were purchased from his bar. Hopefully he works on...
