Groucho's Deli — Restaurant in Hartsville

Update: The management has made a quick and satisfactory fix for the situation in which they upheld. Thus, I adjusted the score.

Stay away from the catering. I cannot speak on behalf of normal orders as I have not had a chance to partake nor will I after my experience at this particular Groucho's Deli. But to have a basic order of a party platter where it should contain roast beef along with the ham and turkey it instead had just ham and turkey along with isolated pieces of what I believe is chicken salad. Seems like they were clearing out an old inventory. Coupled with that, small things like pickles were missing.

Call me crazy but when someone makes an order hovering around $150 and pre-tipped another $25; it should be pertinent to have a service fulfilled with an expectation that the order will be completed to the request.

It should also be stated that this was an online order and with no special requests. So no miscommunication were made by the order, just a simple default order. Literally no excuse for the lack of attention and overall is concerning as this usually goes hand and hand to lack of hygienic and quality standards. Not a good omen for a fairly new business front in a town.

Faith in humanity restored. I live in Indiana my parents live in SC. My moms sick and I door dashed some food to her house. This place was out of stock of salted caramel brownie. So they threw in a GF brownie in its place. Well when I called and explained the circumstances the call didn't end well and I was bummed.

Next thing I know some angel who works there called me. So polite charismatic and full of southern charm. I explained how my mom was sick and she more than understood. You guys should promote this person or she should work for the united nations. She used her diplomatic powers to the max. I think she's a Jedi.

They went the extra mile and actually went and delivered these for my momma!! I got literal brownie points for this. Thanks and you have earned a customer for life. My parents just moved into town and will prob become some regulars because of this kind over the top gesture. Good people still exist and they work here at this place.

Love. This. Place. I first found it in Spartanburg, SC and recently stayed in Hartsville, so I had to go again. High quality ingredients and great prices. I got the Arcadian Chicken Salad and a side of pita bread. Their dressings are amazing so I got Italian with the salad and a side of ranch. I dressed the salad with the Italian and then stuffed half in the pita and ate it like a sandwich and ate the rest with a fork. Simply amazing. Their ranch is to die for, so I dipped the crackers they gave me in and i didn’t want it to end. Highly recommend this deli if you’re looking for a great sandwich or salad with quality...
