Lucky Star — Restaurant in Hartville

For the first time in years the food was unseasoned; Spareribs had no sauce, meifun was bland and had no chicken and 4 small shrimp, the chicken egg fu yung had 1 small piece of chicken, the chinese vegetables were soggy. I got the lunch menu and the girl said it did NOT come with an egg roll {the menu said it did}. I think this must be under new management. I understand not wanting to give me 4 plates because it was for diners,but, I spent 88.00 and left a tip, I have spent as much as 180.00 for one order . You really could have given me 4 paper plates and napkins. You risked one of your best customers and two ladies who came 25 miles because we liked you food so much. I am so sorry the food was so bad today. Lastly, when I called the 2nd time to complain someone hung up before I said hello, I was polite and quiet, not mean,but, I spent too much and came too far for the food to be so much less tasty than it ever has been...

For the Chinese takeout category, this is the best I have ever had. I have been to many other similar restaurants and for some reason none compare. I have tried General Tso's chicken so many different places. Lucky Star's has the perfect flavor and crispiness to it. The sauce they use is very good. Another thing I like here are the egg rolls. Most I have tried are soggy and not crisp. The egg rolls here are the best I have ever had. Very crispy and fresh. I usually dip them in duck sauce. I also enjoy their fried rice, which I feel should be basically the same everywhere. Maybe its how good the rest of the food is that make me feel like even the rice is better than most I have tried. I always look forward to coming here when I'm in the mood for Chinese. I agree with the others, Joey is the man! He always makes me feel welcome, often asking about family members that also eat here. Would recommend this...

No disrespect to the kitchen staff whatsoever. You can tell from the moment you walk in that they are doing their best. The food is normally average and the wait is not normally ridiculous. Today however, is a different story. I called in to order my food and the kid who answered asked the same questions multiple times. He told me it would be a 20 minute wait. I came in after 20 mins and had to wait in line another 20. Once I got to the front, he picked up my order and asked the SAME questions!!! He had gotten it wrong but it didn’t matter bc no one started working on my food yet… I understand that they were super busy but at least let me know I will be waiting for AT LEAST an hour instead of telling me it’ll be 20 minutes. Super disappointed. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was bc of the 3 hard workers who were behind this...
