They're pretty good, but not perfect. Their cheeseburgers and "Grinders" are excellent, except for the fact they put copious amounts of lettuce on them. Picture if you will, sitting down to eat a meal. You order the Turkey Burger because it's pretty good. After waiting a while, and eating two excellent cheese sticks, and sipping down one and a half Dr. Peppers, you finally get your meal. Not wanting to waste time, you bite right into those luscious buns. Oh. Oh joy. The taste is overwhelming. But then, you looked down. Those fries that came with the burger are now covered in the large clumps of loose lettuce and mayonnaise that fell so easily do to overstuffing. What a mild inconvenience. The worst kind of inconvenience. Their dinners are pretty good too. Except the sides, which can not be changed most of the time. But at least you can get a nice salad with it, or cottage cheese or applesauce. Now, with that in mind, allow me to tell you a tale. I ordered a dinner. The waitress never gave me the exquisite chopped salad I ordered. After notifying her of this, she did nothing to rectify this grave injustice. No tip for her. Months later, I had the same waitress. She got my girlfriend's order completely wrong. It was only one thing, a vegetarian (I know, I know) Asian salad. She brought her something else completely. Once again, no fixing the situation, and no tip. I would honestly like to see such an incompetent worker fired. I don't know her name, because I don't remember the names of terrorists. Grinders, if you read this I would greatly appreciate her termination from being a server. She is the ugly one of the waitresses. Other than her, the services is excellent, and very helpful. So, yeah, go there but beware the...
Read moreGrinders Hartville: I've eaten here three times so I thought it was time for a review. The service was very good each of the times I ate there. Our waitresses all seemed very well informed. I've eaten here three times and I've got to say their sandwich (grinder) selection is very good. The price point for the large sandwiches is around $7 and if want French fries that'll be extra. I got the Reuben grinder and it was very good. My wife got the black angus cheeseburger with fries that was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. She got fries with her hamburger and they were very crisp and delicious and the price was around $7. I've gotten the fish and chips dinner in the past and it was very good as well. The ambiance is nice and is typical of an max & erma's or an Applebee's.
The only down side is that it's a sandwich place and you can definitely tell that's their specialty. If you go for the dinners their sides are pretty average unless you get French fries with your dinner. Also, the dinners have the sides preselected already so it's not like Cracker Barrel where you can pick amongst your favorite sides. One of the times I got green beans with my dinner and they tasted like they were out of a can and nothing that special. I wish they allowed customers the option to pick their sides with the dinner platter. Simply, the sandwiches seem like their forte while the dinners are an afterthought. Also, the menu is rather large and if you're not familiar with their grinder menu it can take some time to figure things out. If your looking just for a sandwich it's an easy order, but if you're looking for a bit more it takes a while to find something.
Very good place for...
Read moreWe walked in probably around 5 pm, to a 10 - 15 minute wait, which was fine, we waited our time and eventually we got brought back to a table. Our waitress was very kind and was one of the best waitresses I’ve ever had, I think he made started with an S. We all ordered water, and she was quick to get them. (She had trouble carrying them though corporate should give them trays.) She brought our waters and we ordered boneless wings the Chicken Tender Luvin’ sandwich, and for a side, I got garlic mashed potatoes, my Grandma got rice, and my mom got fruit. After she left my Grandma also wanted fried mushrooms so she stopped another waitress and asked her for those. We found out she told her the next time she came around. After that time she brought out the wings, mushrooms, and fruit. The rings were crispy and good. I didn’t try the mushrooms but they looked good, and the fruit had strawberries, blueberries, grapes, and oranges and was very good. However, there was some hard thing in one of the oranges I’m not sure if they had seeds. After this, we got 974 sandwiches and other sides quickly and our waters were refilled. They didn’t get the sandwiches wrong, and they were all great. The mashed potatoes were also very good, the rice was soft and also quite good. This was my firs experience at a Grindrts and I would definitely recommend it and I would come...
