Went in and ordered a lunch special with 2 eggrolls on the side to go... explained to the young lady that I didn't want rice (or carrots)... that I wanted the noodles. She said no problem. I ordered a tea as well. Several times I mentioned no rice... only noodles....lunch special (as described on their facebook which I tried to show her a pic of but she was too distracted, constantly interrupting, as though it was an inconvenience--surprising because there were only patrons at 2 tables, and several workers walking around or hanging around chatting with each other.
I got home and opened the box and no noodles... I was given rice covered in carrots!! I could've got mad...but mistakes happen. I called and talked to a nice young man who said sorry, come in and we'll replace the meal. He took down my name. Very professional and polite.
Fast forward to today, one week later. I go in and get the same girl at the register--who should absolutely not be working with customers--and I explained to her that last week she entered my order wrong, I had called, and they were going to replace it. She said, 'You're only getting the meal...not the eggrolls." I told her I bought it all as one meal to enjoy together and when my order was wrong, I passed the entire meal it to someone else... so I'd like them to replace the entire meal (other than the tea). She told me they weren't handing out free eggrolls. Then she disappeared in the back for 10 minutes and another girl walks up and says, 'we're not replacing the eggrolls...' I explained to HER that I'd bought it as an entire meal to eat together and didn't get to eat it, and she said "Why did you give away your food? That's not our mistake..."
I disagree. When I had to find something else to eat for dinner (which happened to be a quick meal I made myself), I wasn't going to eat eggrolls with it. I splurged on eating out a MEAL...not eggrolls, so gave the whole meal to someone who did like rice and carrots.
Regardless, they were rude. I asked who their manager was...they said they didn't know. I asked who the owner was...they didn't know. Another young man finally told me the name of the owner who is also the manager.... like it was a big secret. This is a small town... I think the manager would want to know how rude these ladies were. Never did get the manager's last name... but buyer beware. They cannot be trusted to get an order right. They're too young to understand the cost of replacing 2 eggrolls is a LOT less expensive than a dissatisfied customer, who had to drive back into town on a separate trip to get the meal they'd paid for the first time (cost of time, gas, and wear&tear on vehicle is a LOT more than the cost of eggrolls).
If you check online groups, you'll see this restaurant is hit and miss. If these kids running the place in the manager's absence had a good day...you'll get a good meal & service, exactly as you ordered it. But if they had a bad day at school..... buyer beware. Your food and experience is at the mercy of an overly emotional teenage girl with no customer service skills, no memory skills and a sharp tongue.
Side note: The young man with the curly long hair is extremely polite... but not authorized to fix a mistake like this.
Second Side Note: Go to Kobe instead. Food is always right. If your plate is wrong they won't deduct the cost of the eggrolls that are right.... and their eggrolls AND tea are MUCH...
Read moreI saw this place and saw their menu had takoyaki on it. This is the only reason why I stopped by.
I ordered takoyaki and fried calamari to start with. Don't know my waiter's name (never got the name) but the server was very lackluster. Granted, I told them I was waiting on a plus one, but it took what seemed like forever for him to bring me a drink, to ask if I wanted to start with any appetizers, and I didn't even get a condiment rack. Not even after my actual entrée came out.
The food was sub-par. The fried calamari was overcooked and salty. The "Yakiniku Beef with fried rice" is just chopped up carrots and onion with pan-seared steak and peppered rice. I asked for medium-rare when they might as well just given me well done. What kind of fried rice is JUST peppered rice with NO flavor? Don't call it fried rice. The only thing REMOTELY good was the takoyaki and that's just me trying to see a positive in a place where there isn't one.
Overall, 40USD in this economy for a poorly cooked and embarrassing menu is outrageous. I don't recommend this place at all, unless you hate your taste buds. Then...
Read moreI like this place so much better than kobes! I never cared for their low quality meats.. me and my family have ate here twice already. one time was take out and yesterday was dine in.. we enjoyed it both times. First time I got teriyaki chicken and yesterday I got Teriyaki steak.. the steak is amazing! We also tried a shrimp tempura sushi roll yesterday and it was yummy.. the portion size for the plates here is a little small but the price is a lot cheaper. We got their lunch specials both times so that might be why the portion is smaller, they have them Tuesday through Saturday until 4 p.m. you can't beat the price Teriyaki chicken plate 5.99 and Teriyaki...
