I wish that I could give a 1/2 star but Google doesn’t allow that. I ordered a pizza on Friday 2/19/21 & received a confirmation email stating “ Your order has been received, and will be ready in approximately 60 Min”. I arrived at the restaurant exactly one hour from the order was placed & had to wait outside for 20 minutes because there were too many people already waiting inside for their orders. Is Hasbrouck Heights Pizza even following current CDC guidelines for COVID safety in regards to indoor capacity? Not from my view looking in...it looked & felt very unsafe. Once I was able to get in the door, the staff was very unorganized & quite frankly rude to a majority of customers. I was told that my order wasn’t ready & that I would have to wait an additional 20 minutes for it to be ready. Keep in mind that this was now one hour & 40 minutes after I’d placed my order. Understanding that they were busy, I went out to wait in my car for another 20 minutes. I decided to brave the sardine-packed inside of the restaurant again. I was shocked to learn that my order STILL wasn’t ready...this is 2 hours after originally placing the order now. I was told that the pizza was going into the oven now & would “only” be an additional 20 minute wait. The worst part of this news was the uncaring attitude of the staff...they seemed like this is all so “understandable” since they’re so busy & that it’s completely acceptable & normal for me to wait 2 hours & 20 minutes for one pizza. When I wasn’t apologized to or spoken to with genuine care, I realized that Hasbrouck Heights Pizza just simply DOESN’T CARE...They’re arbitrators of abusive behavior to which we the customers just need to understand, accept, give them our hard-earned dollars & be at their mercy to continue waiting (with a smile) as long as they need us to...to risk our safety during the COVID pandemic by repeatedly walking in & out of their over-capacity establishment. I support & applaud any business that is busy during these times. But it’s completely unacceptable for them to have NO ACCOUNTABILITY for their part in the lack of communication & customer service taking place last night...If they’re that busy, then they could’ve sent out in their order confirmation email that the wait time would be 120 minutes instead of 60 minutes. Or added that important update to their website or social media pages for us to see. BUT NOPE...they DON’T CARE. As I waited...I watched...I watched how the workers uncaringly treated the customers, watched the un-regulated volume of people continually crowding the indoor space & watched the seemingly endless flow of pizzas going out through their delivery service...Hmmm...delivery orders keep rolling out & in-person pick up orders are way behind...very interesting... The pizza delivery orders seemed to be the #1 priority which in turn continued to back up the pick up orders. It’s very sad actually that the majority of people become complacent to abusive relationships like this...they don’t speak up, they don’t question, they wait, they accept the unacceptable...and by doing so, they continue to enable the abuser. In this case, Hasbrouck Heights Pizza will go on with business as usual & my review will fade into oblivion without being acknowledged or my bad experience rectified. Such is life, right? I’ll give my future business to an establishment that values me as a customer, gives me good customer service, respect, communication, consistency, safety & has an organized process in place. Read moreBeen ordering from Heights Pizza for quite some time now and normally everything is really good…. Except for tonight!! I ordered two slices of pizza and a cheesesteak with fries. The pizza was harder than a rock and cold to the point that the cheese congealed. The cheesesteak was just barely warm and the fries were completely undercooked -even though we asked for well done fries. Everyone has off days and I understand that and this is why I ordered out for dinner in the first place since I didn’t feel like cooking dinner. The saga continues as the delivery guy got lost, even though he had my correct address. I was on the phone with him for at least 10 minutes instructing him on how to get to my house. When I called to complain about the food, they immediately said they would fix it and send a replacement order. The replacement order came about 30 minutes later, but the catch was they needed the original order back. This was NOT stated to me on the phone in any way, shape, or form. I’m assuming I then spoke to the owner when the second delivery guy came and the owner was nothing but extremely rude telling me he can do whatever he wanted - so if I didn’t return the horrible first order, I wouldn’t be able to get the replacement order. In my opinion, that is extremely unethical and unhygienic to take food back after it’s already been delivered to a customer. Needless to say, I will ever order from Heights Pizza again! This was just a complete disastrous experience. And I am appalled of the service I received after being a loyal customer for so many years. They should really rethink their Customer service techniques!

Given the fact that I’ve been a long-time customer, this horrible experience should never have happened. I never mentioned that I was a customer with many positive experiences regarding Heights Pizza. Not sure where the owner got that idea from? My review was not extreme or misleading in any way… it was just the truth. I guess the truth hurts when it’s a negative review about your business. Maybe a little bit more compassion towards your customers would go a long way. Rudeness doesn’t get you anywhere! Not only did I have to endure a horrible experience, food wise and delivery wise, I then had to deal with the owner/manager being completely obnoxious and rude. I didn’t ask for the drama or agitation when ordering food, it just came with their oh so lovely customer service!
Requesting the return of the original order is completely idiotic… especially when it’s close to 45 minutes after the fact. The food is going to be ice cold and inedible at that point…so why even bother showing your cook the food then?
I have given my constructive feedback, and have also gave it fairly and honestly. I’m sure you remember how that evening went as I do not lie. Whether my post compromises your reputation or not is none of my concern. I’m just letting consumers know what to look out for. Good business owners would take good or negative reviews and not attempt to make the consumer seem as though they’re at fault. And after reading other reviews, it seems as though I am not the only one that has gone down this road with Heights...
