This is my second day at this hotel. I was in the area to visit friends that live in Hoboken. The access to NYC Midtown is very easy. I would drive in the morning, and it would take one hour during rush hour. I would definitely commute to the city during off-peak times. Returning from a day of shopping and dining in NYC, it was easy, and about 30 minutes. It’s such a great option if you don’t want to stay in the city, which is dicey and very expensive. ||The hotel is located near the 17 highway, and offers lots of fast food options, and there is a full size Walmart nearby within driving distance.||The hotel is well appointed, and very clean. The breakfast in the morning is ample and timely. The staff at the hotel are incredibly nice, and are always checking in to see if you need anything at all.||The room linens are white and fresh! The rooms are immaculate and smell amazing. The public areas are very clean and well thought out. There is ample free parking, and the hotel is very safe. Everything is key access, which allows for extra security. they had a sports team visiting, but they were prepared. Never did I feel inconvenienced, and they did such a great job accommodating everyone during breakfast hours. It was never crowded, and there was always a place to sit, and they never ran out of food.||Mathew, Adam and Abdel were so kind during my stay. They assisted with local info and made my stay so nice. All of the team members I encountered during my stay were engaged, and very kind. I made a comment about my bed to the front desk and when I returned from a full day out, I had a brand new bed. The engineer that I encountered in the hallway, told me he was going to look into it. He was very kind and attentive. He even asked me when he could return to take a look. Their attention to detail and customer satisfaction are unmatched. Not to mention the level of communication between the team members to ensure that everything was going to be actioned on.||I will be back again, as this is my go to for NYC shopping and visiting friends in New Jersey. 10 out of 10 I would recommend this hotel. The general manager of this hotel is doing an amazing job of empowering the team members. It is evident by their interest in the customer, and...
Read moreI had an extremely frustrating billing situation with this hotel.
I initially booked a room for 1 night through the Hilton website. I was charged for the room by “Hilton Advanced Purchase” as soon as I booked the room because I’m a Hilton Honors member.
Then, as the date was approaching, I realized that I needed to book a second night, so I did so through the app. I didn’t see a charge for the second night and figured they would charge me when I checked in.
However, during checkout, Home2suites charged me for 2 nights, even though I had paid for one in advance. Despite explaining the situation to the employee at the front desk, who had to keep going in to check with her manager (who never came out of her little manager room to talk to me), explained there was nothing they could do about it.
I got a rep from Hilton Advanced Purchase on the phone and had them talk to each other - because Home2Suites wouldn’t bother calling Advanced Purchase themselves. Advanced Purchase told me they would resolve the issue within 72 hours.
The next day, I saw the charge for the 2 nights from Home2Suites removed from my credit card.
However, the following week when I checked again, the reversal was gone. I called Advanced Purchase this morning and spent a half hour trying to resolve it. Advanced Purchase had to call Home2Suites to figure out what was going on, and came back to tell me that the only way Home2Suites could refund me was by sending me a check via snail mail. So it remains to be seen as of today when/whether they will actually issue the check.
I blame all of this on the manager at the property itself. She should have dealt with me directly in person when I was at the hotel asking for it to be resolved rather than making me do all of this extra work to get a refund.
Really hoping for them that they send me the check ASAP, because as an attorney, I will sue...
Read moreThe rooms are large and clean but was disappointed with his hotel not following through on their end in multiple ways.
We called the night before to ask if we could check in early esp since the we were HH diamond member. The person said we should be able to check in around 2. We arrived at 3 and only 1 of the 3 rooms were ready. We thought that's fine, we will hang in the 1 available room until the other 2 are ready by 4, which is the normal check-in time. Well 4pm came around and both of the other rooms were still not ready. This is unacceptable for paying $2700 total for our 2 night stay, especially as a diamond member. We did our due diligence and even got confirmation for earlier check in, yet we didn't even get regular time. When we asked for late checkout due to our own rooms being almost an hour late, they said they can't guarantee that. Really?
Continental breakfast is pretty decent as long as you have no allergies. There were no options for just plain scrambled eggs or plain breakfast meat. We had 2 people in our party with dairy allergies and they couldn't eat any of the breakfast meat, sandwich, or egg options because they all had cheese. No dairy free milk options either which I found odd, considering all Hyatt hotels have them.
The most invasive lack of follow-through was the sign for housekeeping, which said they'd come once every 2 days. Because of this, we didn't put the do not disturb sign out after the first day. Still, housekeeping came in the bedroom (not just the living room) and woke my baby son up while I was shirtless and pantsless!
Overall, we did everything we were supposed to as guests but we still got late rooms and walked-in on nearly naked. Because of their intrusiveness, we didn't even call them about the bathroom light not working because we didn't know when or how...
