My stay at Holiday Inn Hasbrouck Heights, check in Friday 7/5, Check out Monday 7/8 was anything but enjoyable..
While showering Saturday morning, prepping to spend the day at my mother’s funeral proceeding, to my discust and dismay, I found bandaides on the wall of the shower stall. On my way out to the funeral I spoke to your representative. They said this situation needed a manager. After discussing the situation with the manager, she said they would sanitize the room and take care of the situation. They would credit me and give me points to my IHG account. Knowing they would take care of this discusting situation made the day not start as horrible as I expected. After spending the next two days taking care of my mother’s needs. I take another shower Sunday, 7/7 evening to my dismay the bandaides were still there, telling me Holiday Inn did not take care of a sanitary compromise situation they were alerted to from Saturday cleaning and Sunday cleaning. When checking out Monday, 7/8 morning, I spoke with your representative as I was checking out discussing my discontent. When he gave me my bill, nothing was credited or no points were added to IHG account. When discussing the conversation I had with the manager the Saturday morning, he said the only thing he could was due was credit me 25% for Friday night and Sunday night. This was not to my satisfaction, but since no managers were there this was all he could do. Knowing this I had full intent to contact my credit card and Holiday Inn of my complaint. When contacting my credit card company to my astonishment I found out not only did they not credit me but added another $250.00 to my bill. My checked out receipts stated $530.04. Holiday Inn charged me $788.00. Not only am I morning the loss of my mother, I have to deal with Holiday Inn’s poor sanitation and lies, but also their fraudulent charges. I am sick over this whole escapade. I chose Holiday Inn due to the location and reputation. The only way I will feel ok about this whole situation is a complete credit of my bill. Explained our complaints and told her how we cancelled our Holiday Inn for 7/10-7/11/24 because of this.
She will send our complaint to the Management Team for all Holiday Inns and NOT for IHG. They will work on a resolution. They may not call or contact us back so Raya put in a request for them to do so. I made sure she had both our cell #s.
If we hear nothing from anyone by 2 weeks (7/29), call IHG back for the status of our complaint
I asked her what would the Management Team do for us when the complaint is resolved. She said possibly give us more points or a stay at a Holiday Inn free. I requested a partial refund since we are seriously considering not using Holiday Inns in the future.
7/7-7/8/24 Holiday Inn Complaint
Large groups rushed in as we were at the check in desk and with the confusion we were give wrong directions to our room, whereby we got lost. We stumbled upon an employee who could not speak English but with difficulty we were able to get enough info from him and finally found our room
Reservations were made in advance and it was clearly stipulated we needed an animal free room and polyester NOT feather pillows and bedspreads
We contacted the front desk who told us they did not have any feather free pillows (the bedspread was fine). I suggested they go out and purchase a few for us to use and for the hotel to have for other customers who may need them in the future and he said he could not do this.
I then called housekeeping to ask if they could look for polyester pillows but they never answered the call.
Front dest told me our complaints will be given to their manager who never called me or sent in our complaint to IHG. IHG later told me complaints would not be sent to them.

After a 7 hour drive we get there and get checked in, it's about 4:30 pm check in was available as early as 3pm, we get our room key walk into the first room and it's dirty towels and trash everywhere. We were like okay must gave been a mistake, wo go back to front desk and inform them, they apologize and provide another room, we go to that room and it's also dirty beds clearly slept in and towels everywhere, so we again go to the front desk and they apologize and have us sit in the waiting area after about 20 minutes they figure it out and checked our 3rd room and told me they'd get with me later about what they could do about the inconvenience. We were only there for the night for a concert in NY. So we got ready and left and got back later and the guy who checked us in saw us come back and said nothing so I figured I would hear something in the morning. So next morning I go to check out and mention it to the girl at the front desk who knew the situation but didn't know what to do and confirmed my number and said the GM would call me later. Waited 2 days and heard nothing so I called them and asked for a refund because this whole situation was ridiculous...honestly we would've been happy with a lunch on them to make up for it but literally nothing. They said they could do the refund but since I booked through booking.com I would have to call them and have booking.com call the hotel and then they would confirm my refund. So I did that as soon as I got off the call with the hotel and booking.com called and put me on hold and couldn't get ahold of anyone so they left a message and emailed the hotel to which 2 more days went by and the hotel basically decided to decline my refund.
