Jody's Bakery & Caterie — Restaurant in Hattiesburg

I honestly wasn’t going to write this review, but after talking with a friend I felt like it needed to be said. I’ve always loved Jody’s bakery and the treats they make, so I took my kids there last Saturday. While we were checking out, the older lady working asked what we had planned for the day. I told her we were going to the zoo and then to eat hibachi. Her response was, “I don’t eat that kong fooey food.” I was honestly shocked to hear something that came across as so dismissive and racially insensitive. Especially after having to wait for 5 minutes to be serviced! It made what is usually a positive, family-friendly experience really uncomfortable. Very disappointing. Save your money.

I bought my daughter a birthday cake with a Teenage mutant ninja turtles image transfer on it from here. Gave a week's notice ahead of time. Paid almost $70 (yes, almost $70.00) for a very dry cake with a blue splotch on the picture of Michaelangelo . When I asked about the blue spot on the character, the young girl, who I wouldn't describe as kind, replied that it was just part of the image. No, it's not. I personally printed out the image and hand delivered it to Jody's fresh & crisp last week. So very disappointed. I am in town for a Birthday. I call to ask prices for a cake. A 6 year old child answers the phone that couldn't answer questions then puts me on the phone with this rude woman. I simply asked for prices on cakes she gives them to me. I then state at 12:58pm that I will be in her shop in one hour. She then tells me you have to be here before 4pm cause we close. I tell her yet again I will be there in one hour. She repeats herself again. Then I tell her one hour from now is 2PM I dont think I need to hear her hours if I will be in long before closing time. Needless to say I will not be ordering any cakes from her. Especially with the track record of bad cakes and my experience of horrible...
