Okay wow I donāt even know where to start! Iāll preface my review with: my husband and I value QUALITY coffee. Baristas who know what a true cappuccino is and treasure the art of a good pour over. This place may be small right now, but wow we will be coming back anytime we stop thru Hattiesburgā¦because they scratched every coffee itch within us.
I didnāt know what to think at first, coming in from out of town and researching the coffee scene in this town. But what we stumbled upon here was a true hidden gem. My husband got a flash iced pour over with tonic water. It was truly unlike anything he has had before (and thatās saying a lot). What was also neat was how the barista took the time to explain to us what was going on during the process and how he was doing it.
I also extremely respect how we would watch other customers come in who may not have valued coffee as much as we snobs would. And he (barista) wouldnāt treat them any differently, but he would make their specific drinks and before he would add their syrup or sweetners ask them to try it without first just to get a taste of what it is really like. Then he would go about making their requested drink. No ounce of judgement passed or anything!
Hours are amazing. Coffee is amazing. Service is spectacular. NEED TO GO HERE WHILE IN HATTIESBURG! Plus their open on the weekendsā¦which none of the other big time good coffee shops in that town (minus mulviās on saturday)...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI seldom write reviews, but Kaffehause Fabelhaft is the rare treasure that compels me to provide a critic. This unassuming shop, with a hand painted logo upon the wall of this old house in hattiesburg, blew my expectations out the water. I ordered a pour over and was immediately impressed with the sheer options of beans. I began chatting with Mike about the ends and outs of coffee while simultaneously paying close attention to his brewing process. The extreme attention to detail I observed ultimately culminated in an excellent cup of coffee. I have had coffee the world, from designer cafes in germany and china, to every niche cafe I find within the US. I rank Mike and this operation amongst the best coffee experiences I have ever had. Stop in, visit, learn about and enjoy an excellent...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHidden gem alert. I am not sure what to advertise in priority: the quality of the espresso and homemade food or the friendliness of the owner. First, for espresso aficionados: that's your spot. It turns out that good espresso is like good wine in that when you taste one, there is no question in your mind whether or not it is good. It is not about being snobbish: it is not sour, it is not too bitter, it just tastes good. Second, the owner makes traditional German pretzels (in front of you if need be) that are absolutely delicious. And as a bonus, he is so friendly that you leave having had a good time, an interesting conversation, and wishing that you could be back the next day. Kaffeehaus Fabelhaft is definitely on our map for future trips! Can't wait to stop by...
