I ordered my food to go so take my review for what it is worth. When I walked in to pick up my food, at the time I was told to show up, my food was being walked up to the front desk. Great timing and friendly girl up front. It was my first time inside the building and it looked very nice just maybe a bit dark but it was clear some care was put into the building. I was somewhat disappointed that I could not see where they were doing their cooking from and I believe I have an idea of why. Now it’s time for what matters, the food. I ordered brisket, pork ribs, burnt ends, fries and Mc n cheese. My wife ordered burnt ends and sausage with potato salad and Mac n cheese. The burnt ends were the highlight of the meal. Well seasoned and very tender. The sausage was also very tasty. A little sweet on the front and good mix of seasonings. Very tasty. That is where the good ended. The Mac n cheese was bland and tasted like nothing but black pepper. The potato salad was seasoned but nothing special. The fries were nothing to write home about either lacking nearly any semblance of salt. I was disappointed the second I opened my food because I saw zero smoke ring on the ribs or the brisket. The ribs were not tough, but not tender either and the flavor was ok. They seemed grossly overcooked. The brisket had zero bark and was dry dry dry. The brisket only came from the flat(lean). I’d have liked an option for fatty brisket from the point but that was not an option and they did not bother to include any in my order. Genuinely, it tasted like it was made in an electric smoker by a dad who got a new Weber for his birthday. I did not finish either the ribs or the brisket and I served most of the brisket to my dogs. For the price this is incredibly disappointing. For a 3 meat platter and a 2 meat platter and a tip it was $51. As somebody who travels to places just to try BBQ, I was eager to have a good place in my backyard. Having moved here from Texas, I was hopeful this place would be good. However my experience ultimately left me largely...
Read moreI went in with a couple of friends the other day to try it out. We sat down to order food and I didn’t see exactly what I wanted on the menu so I told the server I wanted just tortilla chips, queso, pulled pork, and jalapeño’s. That’s it. She put our order in and it came out about 10 minutes later. She brought it out and gave it to us. The portions were WAYYY smaller than she had described. She said management had changed the portion sizes because people weren’t eating the whole thing which makes absolutely no sense. If they’re paying for it, it doesn’t really matter. If you change the portion, change the price also. Anyway the server was very nice, apologetic, and did absolutely nothing wrong. Next, my food itself was also not correct on top of the portion size problem. First, it was DORITOS??? and not tortilla chips. Second, I seen that it had Mac n cheese on it also. I think even the server was confused. She apologized and said she didn’t know they started putting Mac n cheese on the nachos. I said it was fine because in my head I was like “okay this may be good” so I just took it. I bit into it and tasted something weird and realized they had also mixed baked beans into it…It was not nachos anymore at that point. Just mush underneath. I understand I could have asked for them to remake it, but I was just aggravated at that point and I didn’t feel like it.
Basically, it just felt like things are constantly changing and there is no consistency or communication between...
Read moreAwful….. the beef rib was overcooked…. Smoked meats should be smoked, not burnt. The beef rib, $25.99 with a tiny slice of burnt toast and no sides included, was beyond smoked… it was rendered, extra crispy. The frozen fries came to the table lukewarm, hard as a rock and almost as dark as the rib. The frozen okra was warm and the best thing on the plate. My kids had a frozen, processed chicken patty sandwich and frozen, processed chicken tenders with frozen fries…. The wife had a pulled pork plate with black, not brown, “toast”. She ordered fries with the plate but they did t make it to the table for 5-10 minutes after the other food. Did I mention that we waited 35 or more minutes from order to table?? The entire place is an ugly mistake and should be closed immediately. The lady who seated us did apologize for the wait as well as the awful food and she tried to offer us a discount but at that point it was too late. We spent over 100.00 and waaaay over an hour on the above mess. I refused the discounted bill but I would love to have back my wasted time. Please avoid this place. Perhaps a real Texas Pitmaster may come along and open a real BBQ joint here if this place dies a...
