When you walk into the restaurant, you get to take a step back in time with all the vintage signs, tractors, toys and more to look at... Each day the buffet features different foods. We went on Friday... The Fried catfish is some of the best I have ever had, along with really good fried chicken that was super juicy! There was also baked chicken, fried shrimp, boiled shrimp and ribeyes the day we went. The sides were just as good with Mac n cheese, asparagus with cheese, collard greens, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes with gravy, gumbo and so many more I’m not listing!!! the sweet potato fries were really good- they have cinnamon sugar on them. Yuuuum! Desserts were all really yummy especially the cobblers. Everything is made in house and Most food items are sourced locally ...the Mississippi sweet potatoes are so creamy no butter was needed. Definitely a place...

I was in Hattiesburg Ms for a week to visit my Mom, Sister & Brother in Law Danny Anderson. I'm from Nashville TN. They said we have to take you to Movie Star Buffet 🌟. I will say this place is one of the best country home cooking I've ever eaten. The chicken is crispy & tender and not creasy at all. I tried to taste a little bit of all of it all. Meatloaf, Baked Smoked chicken, Chicken fried steak, & Crispy chicken. It was all top notch and very flavorful, cooked perfect and seasoned just right! The Deserts are awesome all homemade, peach cobbler, banana pudding & Bluebell Ice-cream. The price is very reasonable for the quality of food and it's a Buffet eat all you want!! Friend and I ate at this fabulous buffet today. We didn't arrive until 1:45, 15 minutes before they close, but the food was still fresh and soooo good. The fried chicken was perfect!! Had green beans & black-eyed peas because they're "good for you" but I had seconds of both because they were delicious. My friend had smoked sausage and said it was the best she'd ever eaten anywhere. We were the last customers to leave but none of the staff made us feel rushed. They even left the dessert bar open for us - well after 2:00. The ONLY thing that could have been a little better was the sweet tea. Too much sugar & not enough tea flavor. Very minor. The Movie Star Restaurant earned every one of their 5 stars & we've already made...
