We had an experience so negative here that there is no going back. To begin, when we walked in the entire main dining room was clear, they had moved the tables to the two side rooms because of a raw sewage problem in the women's room. Several of the ladies in our party, all mothers, couldn't stomach the smell and had to "hover" in the men's room. I've seen my wife walk into a category 5 turdstorm in one of our kids' rooms without flinching, I'm telling you this bathroom was abysmal.
We ordered the carne asada, which was overcooked, the flautas, which were poorly executed (how do you mess up flautas? seriously), and three kids cheese quesadillas. Throw in three small margaritas (she had to have one extra just to compensate for the bathroom smell), and we're almost at $70. Fine dining prices, taco bell execution. Our server, Orlin, definitely did an amazing job keeping up with a party of twenty or so, which is like saying the laughing gas at the dentist's office is terrific, too bad he accidentally ripped out all my teeth.
The low-point of the night was admittedly my fault. At some point in our chaotic party of twenty (maybe ten kids. Poor Orlin), it came out that the next day was my wife's birthday. We moved here six months ago, we don't know anything, but somehow the server found out. Without being asked, they came out with a silly sombrero and some ice cream on a fried tortilla, and started singing happy birthday to her. If only they had stopped there. One of the female staff took spoons of ice cream and whipped topping and began dumping it on my wife's face, on her shirt, hair, and lap. It completely soaked her cashmere sweater, and 100% ruined her night. She's not a bad sport, if they had daubed some on her nose we could have laughed it off. She was pissed, though, and rightly so. I demanded they give me $10 off for her dry cleaning, which the management made our server pay in cash out of pocket (again, poor Orlin), which coupled with the loss of at least a $15 tip definitely ruined his evening.
Overpriced, the women's restroom was overflowing raw sewage into the hall, crappy food, they ruined my wife's sweater and made her angry, and a decent server who I still feel bad for. We will never go back and will vehemently recommend against anybody else similarly succumbing. Los Dos Potros is terrific and they have horchata! Even Papitos is better food at a...

Read moreWhat a great place! We were seated promptly, drink order taken and brought quickly. They gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and allowed substitutions and additions to items. My niece, who is 8, decided her tamales weren't what she wanted (gasp!) and ordered something else, which came out quick like the other food. But those tamales. Wow. I have Hispanic bloodlines and grew up going to Corpus Christi as a child and bringing back tamales and these were the closest things I've had to being like those from my childhood. And I dony say that lightly. My father (the Spanish speaker), and 2 of my sisters all agreed, those tamales are AWESOME! I'll be back to sample some of the other things on their menu and to get more of those tamales! We as a Hispanic family all...
