We (my family of 4) went here for breakfast on Saturday morning around 9. We waited outside for 20 minutes to be seated. Once seated, we immediately ordered food because we had been looking at the menu on Facebook outside. The place was fairly small and jam-packed close together (the picture of the inside with like 5 tables is massively inaccurate; try 15), but 80% of the tables were finishing up and leaving. None of the employees were wearing masks and only 1 other table had masks on while waiting. 40 minutes goes by and I had noted that no food had left the kitchen the whole time. The couple who was seated before us got their food and then we did. 8 tables had left during this time and filled by unmasked parties. My toddlers were clearly done by this time, jumping around the bench, screaming, trying to get out. I mean, we literally just ordered a waffle, 2 pancakes, one egg and cheese sandwich with grits, and corned beef. 40 minutes?? The pancakes were burnt on the bottom and they tasted just okay. Those pancakes and the waffle are definitely not something I would ever pay $6 each for again, sorry. The grits were definitely microwaved and then left somewhere to chill for 10 minutes - hard shell on top, room temperature on the inside, no butter or cheese or anything added. The other meals were okay as well, nothing I would particularly go back for. We were out the door by 10:20. But waiting an hour for breakfast with toddlers for mediocre, overpriced breakfast in a small, packed, maskless cafe is something I never want to do on a Saturday again. I'd rather go to...
Read moreI have the pleasure of working right next door to one of the best cafés on the East Coast—Ziggy’s Café in Havelock. Being from the Midwest, I know my diners, and this place is as close to home as it gets. The food is always excellent, but if you’re looking for next-level sandwiches, Ziggy’s takes it to perfection. Golden, crispy crust, cooked just right—you can’t go wrong. I highly recommend dining in to get the full experience because, depending on your drive home, taking a sandwich to go might soften that perfect crunch.
Their Reuben? One of the best I’ve ever had. The Pilgrim sandwich? Incredible. Their chicken salad? Next level. And don’t even get me started on their award-winning chili—some of the best I’ve tasted. Breakfast here is simply phenomenal, so whether you’re craving a hearty morning meal or a satisfying lunch, Ziggy’s has it all.
But what truly sets this place apart is the people. Huge shoutout to Rebecca, Natasha, and Ashley—some of the best waitresses I’ve ever met. Once they get to know you, they remember your name, your drink, and your go-to order. That kind of service is rare, and it’s what makes this place feel like home.
If you haven’t been here yet, do yourself a favor and stop by. And if you’re in need of a great haircut, I’m...
Read moreCute local Cafe in a strip mall. Found it on Yelp, while looking for breakfast.
The server is also your hostess, and likes to control the seating. She resembles Diane Keaton in a ponytail. We found it funny, her telling us where to sit in such a small place, but it didn't deter from the overall experience. Comical, as we observed other guests.
They have Pepsi products and use Neese's pork products.
Seemed like a bit of a wait for our food, then we realized a customer picked up six carry out meals. Uh, ok. Lack of communication there on her part.
BLT was delicious, great bacon, fresh tomatoes, just the right amount of mayo on toasted rye. Homefries crispy, cooked in fryer, not overly seasoned if at all. I only added hot sauce to enjoy.
Bread choices, white, wheat, marbled rye, sour dough.
My guy enjoyed the two egg breakfast and grits. He knows his grits and was pleased. The link sausage was ample, but he's not a fan of Neese's.
They did quite a bit of carryout during our visit.
Place only seats maybe 20-30 guests.
Cute gray, black decor.
Overall, we'd...
