Was just here for brunch and it was lovely! We ordered the espresso sandwich, grilled eggplant panini, a coffee, and a mocha.
The drinks were all right — I thought my mocha was a bit bitter but finished it anyway. My husband enjoyed his croissant sandwich, which was toasted well and had a nice smokiness from the bacon. My grilled eggplant panini really hit the spot — the bread especially was nice and crispy on the outside (as a panini should be!!) and the overall texture and flavors were well-balanced. We both thought the food was a bit slow to come out especially since we didn’t order too many things and the restaurant wasn’t packed, but it wasn’t like we waited for an excruciatingly long time.
I loved the cozy atmosphere, with lots of families stopping by for a quick breakfast treat and beautiful outdoor seating. As you can tell from the photos, the space was clean and well-maintained.
What stood out was the service, though. The waitress was really sweet and friendly and the restaurant owner (?) made sure our food was good and gave us a small dish of fruit as dessert :)
I completely missed the specials board in front of the register when I was ordering so don’t forget to take a look at that in addition to the menu! I would come back again to try other items...
Read moreA brand new corner coffee shop in Havertown serving la Colombe coffee. Because we visited on opening day we thought that we might encounter some forgivable glitches, however, happily there were none. The owner's experience show through.
On this chilly November morning we walked to the corner, greeting neighbors on the way as once inside. Espresso Cafe is brand new, clean and very well tended. Counters and tables were wiped clean as quickly as crumbs landed. The coffee was fresh, hot and rich. I had the chocolate cake and my neighbor had the carrot cake. In addition to fresh cake and pastries they also have some prepackaged foods.
The decor is classic coffee shop. Parking is street parking only and the cafe is wheelchair accessible. This is a great addition to the neighborhood and follows the classic Havertown...
Read moreExcellent new experience for us today at this delightful spot. As other reviews say the staff is extremely kind and accommodating. The seating wasn’t ample but it wasn’t crowded and made for a pleasant diner/eating/coffee shop rather than typical coffee houses with people on their laptops taking up huge tables and ordering nothing. The food was a few cuts above. My eggwhite omelette was delicately prepared with fresh tomatoes spinach and feta. There must have been a secret ingredient as it was qualitatively different than any other similar omelette I have ever had. They also serve you complimentary small pastries when you sit down. We definitely...
