Was Initially satisfied, until an incident with the owner Chris who got overly aggressive in my face (he was lucky I was with my kids) about a $3 pasta charge I asked to be refunded on a $120 bill (before tax and tip), he said I got Tortelloni not Tortellini, and because of this he banned me. If I had Tortelloni, then we can also call the Mini Cooper a truck. Was quite surprised at his reaction but maybe business is slow and money is tight, or, business is too good and local customer satisfaction doesn't really matter. Too bad they can't keep the promises they make on their menu about pasta being included with ALL entrees (which I even asked before ordering and the waitress confirmed). Guess they can't afford to make new menus with these corrections. Was a good paying customer until this incident, oh well, guess they don't need me or my friend's business. Looking at other reviews can also see others are not impressed by this place. For an Italian restaurant they have sinfully bad meatballs that have no taste except for breading. Having experienced Italian food from Little Italy to Howard Beach, the Americanized Italian food here is more similar to Olive Garden (probably because they also use Sysco pre-made meals as their food supplier). As for the "brick oven" gimmick, don't confuse it with real coal or wood fired, it could have been a "steel oven" and would be exactly the same bland taste. It's just a renovated bar with a kitchen so naturally drinking will influence the positive reviews. Portions are small and overpriced. Check the reviews that are not done by paid "local guides". You can roll the dice...
Read moreSo, it was 11.00 for the portabella stuffed mushroom appetizer. There were 2 of us. We got 1....1 medium sized mushroom with 6...count them 6....pieces of crab. What an absolute rip off. Also, my mother ordered chicken marsala. The waitress said it came with past and asked her to pick which type of noodles. She said liguini. You know what they brought her? Chicken marsala on a plate and a separate plate of the pasta with, guess what!? Friggin Marinara sauce on top of it! What the hell.....who serves like that. Anyone you know that's going to eat red sauce on pasta with their marsala sauce on their chicken? What a joke. I wanted to send it back. My mother didn't want me too. I'll never eat there again. I've had take out pizza from them before. Almost 20.00 for what amounts to any other pizza place 's small pizza. This place is just outrageous. I live in the neighborhood and this place is just a train wreck. One other time I tried again to get something decent out of that restaurant I ordered mozzarella sticks. How hard is it to make those? Price for them was in double digits. When I picked up my order it was literally a cheese stick, like a string cheese cheese stick, lightly fried. The cheese was still hard in the middle. Do not eat here. There are so many other places to...
Read moreBeen here many times and had similar experiences almost every time. On multiple visits some of the food for the table would arrive while the rest of the table was left waiting. If 1 person orders a pizza and another orders an entree, the pizza always arrives far earlier than the rest of the food.
At our most recent visit 1 person received their food first. 5 minutes later a second person received their food. After another 5+ minute wait everyone at the table, except for 1 person, received their food. After another 5+ minutes, the final plate was delivered.
The food and atmosphere are great and they have an excellent beer list which is what has kept me coming back. With that stated, the service issues I raise have just happened too frequently for me to consider this to be a one...
