Burrito Spice — Restaurant in Haverhill

I tried Burrito Spice for the first time today and can confidently say this is the worst Mexican food in the north shore.. possibly in the world. I am even reluctant to give this 1 star because of how low quality the ingredients were, but the salsa roja did have a good spice to it, which was the only reason (outside of my severe hunger pangs) I ate it.

Let's start with the quality of the ingredients, which was the most jarring - I ordered Al Pastor, a traditional roasted pork, which ended up just being chunks of pork fat. The queso tasted oddly similar to "Over the Border" Cheese Dip, which I'm ashamed to admit I have tried in the past. I also ordered the Birria and paid for double meat, but the Birria was no where to be found. Enjoy the free $3 upcharge, Burrito Spice! Aside from the Birria, it was also missing the corn salsa, and guac, both of which are also upcharge items. Sweet deal.

I couldn't tell you how their other selections are (I got a burrito), but I can't imagine it's any different. Unless you are actively dying of hunger, and happen to have too much money in your pocket that you need to get rid of, I would avoid this place...

If this place was a chain it would put Chipotle out of business. Wanted to try Burrito Spice for a while now and I'm glad I did. Unless you're familiar with the area you'll have to look. Located next to the former Building 19, it was the only light in the far corner of the plaza. As soon as we walked in we were greeted from behind the counter. I could not decide between the buritto or the Chimichanga so I ordered both. Made to order with fresh house made ingredients. 👌 The Barbacoa buritto had excellent flavor together with Pico, cheese, beans and rice. Chimichanga was fried perfectly and topped with queso and some hot sauce served with lettuce and Pico. We dined in and the entire time, everyone who walked through the door was greeted promptly. Very friendly, quick service and competitive prices. I noticed a few door dash deliveries going out and people coming in for take out. Buritto Spice keep it up. We will return and spread the word.
