The Fat Greek — Restaurant in Haverhill

What an experience. I ordered a gyro, french fries, and a beverage. The presentation of the food within the box was not great --but I did cut them some slack due to having ordered via Uber eats.

First, my Uber eats driver arrived and gave me my food. He stated the restaurant never never gave him my beverage --ok, no problem right? I figure my next best bet is calling the restaurant, since I do plan to drive hence ordering Uber eats.

Next, the girl who works at the restaurant answers the phone, is completely confused --I do not even know if she knows what is going on at the restaurant itself. I explain the situation to her and ask if there's any possible chance someone from the restaurant can deliver my beverage with the next delivery and she says "Ummmm I don't really understand or know what you want me to do" HUH?!

I then asked for a manager, they tell me they can pay someone $3 to have them deliver it and I say Ok, great sure. Then I give the girl on the phone my address and phone number. 1.5 hours goes by and she CALLS ME BACK and says "Ummmmm the person we paid to deliver your beverage said they arrived and called and is trying to deliver it. I then say "Well the number you just called me on is the number I gave you, and I didn't receive a call from the delivery person," she then says "Ummm, can i have the address again?" and I say "Are they downstairs, I'll just go grab it" and then she says " Ummm, I don't think so, but I don't know".

WHAT. IS. GOING. ON. I ended up saying "I'm all set with the drink, thank you for trying and have a nice night"

This is located on the right side of Merrimack Street. Just a few steps up and you're in. Everything Greek is here. Greek drinks, Greek food, Greek aromas. Niiice... Tried the pork and beef Gyros meal. Comes in a large Bento style takeaway box. I opened mine at home. Soft fresh gyros bread nestled with a greek salad over aromatic rice, fresh tomatoes and purple onions with and a small container of tzatziki. I was surprised the gyros did not come completed. But appreciated it afterwards. I was able to sample each ingredient. The salad was fresh.its feta exactly greek...creamy and tart. The rice softly aromatic, the meat lightly seasoned tho' not in the expected gyro strips I hoped for. And it was a little too overcooked. The tzatziki sauce was gorgeous. My only complaint is it wasn't enough for the amount of food we had constructed. But it was heaven. Very enjoyable! We also bought a cookies and cream flavored dessert which my roommate gave a thumbs up to. A few tips tho...make sure your order is double checked if you bring it home. Only because We did not get our fries. But it was a busy night so it can happen. It can get pricey. But you can make it reasonable if you dont get carried away ordering everything on the menu boards. ...Which is hard to do in this place. Id...

We'd been hearing good things about this new Greek spot in Haverhill, so took a short drive up to check it out. Due to covid they're only offering takeout for now, but there is a solid amount of sit-down space for the future. The staff were very helpful, with the young woman running the register being knowledgeable and friendly. We eat ordered "The Fat Greek" gyro, which was loaded with all their meat offerings as well as fries and the usual gyro accouterments. We were immediately impressed with the flavor and freshness of the ingredients. The meat was well seasoned without being overly salty, and it was tender and moist without being too fatty. We ordered a spanakopita to share which was flaky and fresh. We also ordered a side of fries which were clearly fresh cut that day. If you're a fan of 5 Guys fries you'll really enjoy these ones. Last we got a spicy feta dip served cold, and it came with a generous side of fresh, puffy, hot pita. This is a terrific spot for casual Greek fare, and...
