The American Airlines dining app brought us here and we were glad it did. The cozy entrance is slightly hidden down a few stairs (or ramp). We arrived in the evening and nearly drove away thinking that perhaps they were closed, but we had missed the arrow on the sign pointing down, initially. We parked across the street in the "Pay by Plate" parking lot. No charge after 8pm when we were here. Upon opening the door, we were greeted with an invitation to choose our own seats. We picked a small table in a little alcove. From my limited experience of pubs in Ireland, The Peddler's Daughter fits right in. The walls are adorned with an eclectic mix of picture frames containing a variety of snapshots and memorabilia from Ireland, new and old. There is a coziness about the place that helped me have a relaxing time. Paper menus in plastic sleeves were brought. In my experience, places with menus like this tend to have better food. This place did not cause me to change my mind on that. We split a tasty scotch egg as an appetizer. I've read others complain about that egg as being overcooked but in order to be served as an appetizer for more than one person, it was just right. I made a mistake and did not arrive with a large appetite so I chose a mug of potato and leek soup, it was delightfully creamy and full of flavour. My dining partner had the beef and ale pie which arrived beautifully cooked. He said every bite tasted great and that the serving size was more than enough to satisfy. As a dessert we both indulged in an Irish coffee (aren't we original thinkers?) Original or not, it was the perfect dessert. Our charming server (Martina) told us that they had been made by the owner, so after our meal we stepped over to thank her and let her know how much we appreciated everything about our visit. She, Mags, was the perfect business owner. She greeted us warmly and welcomed us to visit again, filling us in on upcoming events in the area that would easily lead us back to the pub. Sadly for us, we live in other parts of the country because distance is the only thing keeping us away. Edit: We returned the next night. Ate different food selections and were still pleased. Martina stopped by our table to say a quick hi and welcome us back, they were extremely busy so we appreciated that she took the time.

Here's another gem that I found to be authentic and charming; would you know that my server defined them both. Full Irish! Arguably the best Irish experience stateside with a warm feeling, signature dishes like the "pork belly" and others. When you visit, and certainly you don't need these comments to convince, have a look around the place. It's rustic, perfectly lit for date night or girls/guys night out. They are known for their secret recipe ketchup. Dare you to try it without licking the jar afterwards.

Amazing ambiance and food! I don't like pickles, but the fried pickles were the best I have had. The slices were thin. The batter was delicate and flavorful. Every one ordered the fish and chips. Each platter came wrapped in newspaper. There were 3 huge chunks of battered haddock fried to perfection. Jars of tartar sauce and homemade ketchup along with malt vinegar were brought to the table. Huge lemon wedges came with the fish and chips. All of my future battered fish pieces will be judged against these.

I’m not usually one to leave reviews. However, in this case I just wanted to share my experience in case anyone is listening. I have read multiple reviews about a server here who is a problem and they are 100% correct. I took some friends here recently to celebrate and I was paying the full bill on my own to treat them. Our waitress was a middle aged causcian woman with short brown hair. I can’t recall her name right now. Well I wouldn’t say the food is that reasonably priced here but still I left a generous 20 dollar cash tip and this was over a 25% tip on the bill so I was being kind that day. I was using my credit card for payment. First of all she did not ask how we were splitting the bill which when you see a young looking party of multiple people or even any time you just have a group of people dining out seems like something you should do especially if you are not sure how they will be paying and are a professional waitress for a living. Secondly she rang up my credit card for the incorrect amount and left my cash. I was confused by this and told her I didn’t need any change and I was all set. She just walked away and didn’t respond to me at all whatsoever. I even waited around for a few minutes considering asking another staff member to take it because I feel worried about leaving cash out on a table. It seemed like she was willfully ignoring me while walking by as I lingered there. Anyway, I go to leave with my friends and we have walked down the street already and are taking our time just talking when we get flagged down outside by the waitress with bill in hand stating I didn’t tip her enough. I realize her mistake with my card at this point as I hadn’t double checked the grand total after she rang the card before leaving as I tipped her in cash. I absolutely should not have but gave her another 20 dollar bill at this point because clearly I have too much empathy for wait staff as someone who has worked for tips despite how inefficient she is at her job. My food was good but I don’t think my drink was the best either. Short of her quitting or being fired no amount of money in the world would make me ever set foot in that place again. This is too bad because my friends enjoyed their food, the music, and the general ambiance otherwise and had she not ruined the experience for us we would likely have been repeat customers. I have never had a dining experience like this before in my life. It was so aggregious I’m still frankly in disbelief about it. I think this restaurant should reconsider some of their choices as a business. I am certain from other reviews that we are not the only customers she has ever scared away and we probably won’t be the...

So I show up to dinner before my friends do, and there are three guys sitting at a table near me who are so drunk that I'm wondering how they haven't been shut off. Coming into the restaurant at the same time as I am going into this restaurant is a family with two kids who might have been four five - or six years old around that age. These three obnoxiously overserved young men constantly throughout the night were swearing up a storm, and the mother looked peeved, but she never said anything, and the waitress just kept serving them drinks. Somebody for sure did not follow their T.I.P.S. training. There were a total of maybe 10 people in there and the bartender / waitress had the music cranked so loud that we could barely hold the conversation and even though the place seems to be a bar it also in this case seem to be more of a restaurant because that's what the customer seem to want is to eat. The food was okay, at best. The Irish nachos were made on some kind of paper that was put inside of a basket to save from having to do dishes, I guess, I don't know. But 90% of the cheese that was on the Irish nachos was stuck to the paper, and you couldn't get it off to even eat it. The poutine was okay, but the Scotch eggs they really abused the Scotch eggs. The Scotch eggs instead of being soft hard boiled on the inside as they should be were hard hard boiled and then it looks like they took a blowtorch to the Scotch eggs after they were done cooking them which doesn't make any sense. The absolute worst part of the meal was this weird mustard that doesn't even go with Scotch eggs mustard doesn't go with Scotch eggs but they made this mustard that literally smelled like a barn it was such a turn off but we tried to eat around it cuz we were hungry. It was potentially the most disgusting thing I've ever smelled on a plate in a restaurant and I'm not a picky eater by any means whatsoever I picked off any of the Scotch egg that touched the mustard and ate that and it was still pretty awful. The poor waitress/bartender was straight out, nobody there to help her.. this is definitely not a place that would be a go-to or a...
