A & G Bar And Grill — Restaurant in Hawaii

I'm not sure where such a high rating came from. Based on my experience on a dead Wednesday night, it's definitely not deserved.

A few sitting at the bar and another table was occupied and that's it, it wasn't crowed at all and it looked like 3 servers working. The service, or the lack of, was the real stand out of the experience. I don't need attention every 10 seconds, but maybe every 10-15 minutes would have been nice, even as a check-in, we didn't even get that. When the waitress did show up, she was cordial enough, but with the attitude of she'd rather be standing back at bar gossiping or whatever, or anywhere else.

The food was decent, it came out lukewarm, not hot, and the steak portion of the steak and chicken dish was overcooked, I asked for medium and received well done, otherwise it was fine. Flavors were good. Others in my party seems to enjoy their meals.

Cost was fair. About $80 for 3 adults and 2 children.

The ambiance seemed like an upscale sports bar, which was nice, however, it looks like a bit of ceiling repair from a recent leak needs to be completed as they had several missing and water stained tiles.

If they could fix the service and food issues, a pretty easy thing for good management and/or ownership, this place could be so...

This restaurant was beautiful. It was not what I expected to see here on the Waianae coast. But this bar and grill restaurant is very spacious, the staff is really helpful and polite, the food is delicious and the servings was very generous, well worth the price. The customers that was already there when I got there was pretty laid back figuratively speaking for a bar and grill restaurant. And they have spacious seatings, wide screen televisions, and really cool air conditioning too! I'll definitely go and dine in at A &G bar and grill in Nanakuli again. I give them 5 stars for excellent service, atmosphere and great tasting food, not to mention the menu has a variety of local faves for a very reasonable price! I absolutely loved their Garlic Butter Furikake french fries.... YUMMY! I'll never look at french fries the same. I'd like to say Thanks to the staff at A&G Bar and Grill Nanakuli, for a pleasant time while I was there having a late lunch with my boyfriend. Keep up the good work and I will definitely recommend this restaurant...

This place is the best we have visited so far in our 4 days in Hawaii. Super friendly waitress/bartender who made a really good Mai Tai. The food was different than expected (the steak comes out already cut into strips and the fish and chips is breaded balls) but it was all quite tasty.
