L&L Hawaiian Barbecue — Restaurant in Oʻahu

2024 UPDATE: The past few orders we had was great. The manager seem to be in better moods and nicer. We seem to also notice newer workers. The food has been much better.

UPDATE: So I went to order a BBQ chicken bowl, the price went up as well. The lady then says that if I don't want rice it will only have 2 pieces of broccoli and 1 chicken piece. It's like you can't try to have healthier choices. Broccoli isn't even expensive too. 😕 Kapolei next to foodland has better customer service and food.

We always order here. Sometimes there is awesome customer service but we have been getting more and more bad customer service and attitude especially the one girl who works in the evening and the OWNER viewed in this picture is rude. The owner didn't even know her own menu when I asked for a chicken bowl with all veggies and no rice. So apparently they don't do the veggies with carrots no more and I still wanted to replace the rice with more veggies "broccoli". This is how my $8.00 looked with no rice in a small bowl. To them they said that the bowl would have less broccoli if had rice. There is only like 4 pieces of broccoli and look how much chicken. Seriously $8.00. This is crazy. It isn't a customer friendly place. I've been to other L&L with bowls better than this and not to mention great...

Although their food is good, the customer service is awful. Called both of their numbers numerous times around 8:15/8:20pm, line was busy. Figured they were just busy so I kept calling. Then someone picked up, and she says “hi how can I help you” I proceed to ask to make a phone order and then there was silence. Thought phone disconnected. Called back again, and I got busy tones. 8:28pm my husband calls from his phone and someone answers. He says he wants to do a phone order, and same girl says “sorry we already closed the kitchen” before he could even ask if they had anything left that doesn’t require cooking on the grill, she hung up on him! Very rude. I understand people want to leave work on time to go home, but if your hours clearly state “closes at 9pm” then they should be closing the kitchen and store at 9pm so the staff can leave by 9:30. Not close half hour prior to their actual closing time so they leave at 9pm. Makes no sense. Even if the staff is cleaning for “half an hour” what’s the point of keeping the “open” sign still on if customers can’t...

The place was mostly a mess, with the entire dining area used for "to go" box and rice storage, and signs on the chairs telling you not to sit in them.

We had the regular sized Loco Moco and a spam breakfast sandwich.

Service was super friendly and the sandwich was great, but the (3!) burger patties tasted more like meat loaf than burgers. I suspect they use some filler like cracker crumbs or oatmeal.

The mac salad was REALLY bland, but with a little salt and pepper would have been fine.

We also split a large fries and found a couple of ketchup packets UNDER the fries in the little bag......
