Aloha vista bar and grill — Restaurant in Hawaii

This place has a wonderful view but the restaurant is awful. My wife and I went there for lunch and between the noise from the radio playing 50's music (which I love but just not in these circumstances), the noise from the people in the much too close table next to us, and the incompetence of the waitress, it was not a good experience. The menu on the web is not the one they serve in the restaurant. Part of the reason we went there was because they said on the web they serve gluten free pasta. No such luck. I had the spaghetti and meatball (no plural) and it was ok but I asked to add the small salad that the menu said could be added for $2. When I got the bill the salad was $14. I thought I was specific with the waitress but she just said "sorry about that" and left the charge. I ordered a Negroni to have with my lunch and it was a glass full of ice. I guess the bartender doesn't know thst Negroni's are never served on ice. But the owner should know. My wife said her chicken salad was ok. All-in-all, we...

Calamari Steak! How have I not heard or tried this before?! We went there for lunch 2 days back to back.

Couple things to know before you go... This restaurant is part of the golf club, but accept general public. So there are 'regulars'; who usually they get there in 'large' groups. And are in no hurry. So, be prepared to wait! We did not know before we went there. But when we found out, we didn't mind waiting. They seem to be under-staffed. But they are always running around, checking on you and stuff. So, it's not like they are lethargic. They have a short window for lunch.

Both days, we ordered different food and it was absolutely delicious. Our 5 year old wanted a specific pasta (not on the menu) and they were kind enough to make it for him both days - kids portion and charge less for it. Prices - cheaper prices compared to the restaurants around on the island.

Called to make reservations but they said that there is no record of the reservation?! We called twice to check during the week.. Told no problem. We don't think that we will return again as we felt like they were rushing us out as we ate our dessert and still had our wine to drink and we paid for a dinner that cost over $150. as the waiter asked if we wanted our check? Felt very rushed and Disappointed as they claim they are fine dining. This is the second time this has happened to us as this business has been in business in 2 prior locations maybe if the management didn't close for a whole month each year they would have solid good staff?!
